Really good. Same to what he said at the business meeting at the start of the year. Plan hasn't changed. It's why I have been saying that if we are in touch, money will be spent and no chance of our big players going.

So players that can win us promotion will be going no where as that is more important than any fee a club could pay?

Made the stance clear, "We're not going to be rushed, hurried, or pushed into making signings that don't fit what we are trying to do in the short-term or the long-term." Is the line I like

It's a breath of fresh air that there's no knee jerking, just plain and simple solid planning based on football. Be sustainable as much as possible, but if some money is needed then it'll be there and it'll be spent wisely with the long term plan in mind all the time. We seem to be building a relationship with Man City too and I know there's a link with Marwood, so I'm hoping there are ideas and a sharing of knowledge between the two.
While I'm on my little perch, I think we'll see even less of SD & CM soon. They're not in the same league as KLD and his 'circle'. I'm including Juan Sartori in that circle too. I think he's worth his weight in gold for the contacts he has, very similar to KLD. The age old saying "it's WHO you know, not WHAT you know" is huge in football, especially in modern times. KTF & FTM!

Interesting reflection on this is his statement early on about how the only permanent signings made in the last January window were Winchester and Stewart. I think its fair to say neither hit the ground running and had plenty of criticism, but both of them this season have proved to be excellent acquisitions.

I think its only fair to properly judge a signing a whole calendar year later. And if that's the track record so far it can only be a good thing.

not really anything to make us all sit up and take notice, but nice to have some sensible dialogue from the club that does not just contain the 'usual soundbites', something the club has been missing for a long while...basically letting us know the job is not finished and they are still keeping to the long term side of things, i like that as we have all seen how the 'quick fix' has worked in the past, or rather has not worked.
