From starting the 'new era' with Steve Bruce, to appointing this lightweight, the whole thing looks totally haphazard ...

... if this is as professional as it gets they're in a whole heap of trouble

To be fair my opinion completely changed on him after watching Sunderland Till I Die. The bloke had absolutely no chance with the mess we were already in.

Fair call, in that case they should appoint Maggie Byrne :)

Stavely and her mouthpieces gave the impression that they had only just been waiting for the sunlit day when they were given PL approval for the deal.

All that time waiting, and not one proper plan made, no connection made, no manager lined up, no DOF lined up and the only people who knew a bit about the game have left the building. They have Howe, who is okay but has done a lot less than Bruce in the game up to now and has a very underwhelming record on transfers.

There are three other pretty poor teams down there and Leeds have stacks of injuries, so maybe they'll sneak it, but at the moment they resemble a better off Donald and Co.

Please God. That would be brilliant. And bolster their attacking options by signing Johnson...

They still can't distinguish between (a) being the richest club in the world and (b) being a club with the richest owners.

In the same way that they can't distinguish between a club (a) with a potentially massive upside and (b) stuck in a relegation dogfight.

I personally don't think the Saudis will have bought the skunks just for the sake of it and they will no doubt be opening their wallets soon. But this notion that they're just going to flop out the Saudi wad and top players will come running is a tad naive, to put it mildly.

Will Newcastle cry off from their FA Cup tie against Cambridge, hope so.

It would mean they won't play again until the 15th when they play Watford, a team they can't afford to fail to beat.

Then, in February, it's the big relegation battle at home to Everton and the return of the Messiah.

The third to last relegated team usually has a chance going into the last 4 or 5 games.

If that's Newcastle they could be in trouble.

Their last 4 games are home to Liverpool, away to Man City, home to Arsenal, and ...

... what could be the decider is the last game away to Burnley where Howe is still regarded as a joke and Dyche would have a point to prove.
