If it was an manager/coach with experience in the championship then I'd say go for it in Jan, but if it's Shota or another foreign manager with no experience in the UK then I think it's a mistake to do it in Jan with zero time to prepare etc.. Just look what happened with slutsky.
If we fall back in then I agree, but although we aren't going to suddenly fly up the league under grant, I don't think we would go down either. For me personally, summer is just the safer option
I agree, he's not going to get us up to the prem, but in the Interest of fairness...what's to say shota or another foreign manager with no English management experience would do either? If he is serious about going up, then I think he needs to go with someone with experience of getting teams out the championship or at least experience of the championship and English football
I think at 21 you have to be a really good player to do well in the Championship, don’t forget he was dragged back from Cheltenham where he was on loan, and this is his first season is this division, he will get better, much better, but needs a manager, who understands the championship, and McCann doesn’t
Tbf, the Sluts lost all his team whilst on tour in Portugal, Allam gave him no money, he was always going to fail, again I agree, appoint a manager with Championship experience, I don’t know who though
I was just going to say the same. McCann isn’t the answer, I don’t think Shota is either. Whether it’s January or anytime.
I'm kind of hoping that we don't get any significant money in for sales, as that would presumably mean Greaves & KLP would be on their way. Think initially I'd rather see a few additions to strengthen what we've already got.
He did, but he was also out his depth which he admitted to. Im not sure who id take at the moment if it was me doing the hiring tbh
He’s got to go Bring in nige until season end Get warnock in short term I’m sure there's plenty of others Is farke available? New manager in 5 new players jobs a good un
McCann will walk into any Div 1 team and do well, he has been hamstrung by the Allams with player sales, and no purchases, so he has my sympathy for that, but our team is quite capable of mid table, but we lose games like today, he’s not good enough
Take it easy, I couldn't remember exactly who of the few ITK posted about the manager. As I have said I read all the posts on here and some just stick in the mind, this subject caused a few pages of discussion making it even more memorable. Was it you that said Terry's gone and Shota is in? If that turns out to be right then you or whoever said it months ago can certainly bask in glory. TWT As for the stuff on transfers in / out player contracts and the like it's not something I take a lot of interest in, and therefore I am fairly sure I have never commented on anyone being ITK right / wrong, if you can find anything I am sure it will be in an attempt at humour.
I understand what you are saying and it’s certainly a gamble, it’s never easy for a new man taking over at a club but in a foreign country and getting to know the standard ect takes time. The only advantage is he will know players abroad so that could be a good thing. On the other hand if he comes in knowing the new owner is letting him bring some good quality in and he did keep us up then half a season now would give him a big advantage for the following season. It’s a difficult one that you just hope the owner gets right.
The one only issue you i see to the point you made as being an advantage is....that you could then be in the position that we have both a manager/coach and players that have no experience of English game/league.... It could be a huge success but it could also be a huge failure. For me personally the safe(er) bet is for it to be done in summer. As you say, I hope whatever happens it the correct choice
Good question, pretty similar wouldn't particularly like to see either leave....possibly Greaves based on age and what another coach could potentially get out of him. Would like to see a big experienced meat head centre back come in to complement what we have. Think Greaves would benefit from a rest every now and again.
