First one to mention Acun on here. First one to point out the EFL still needed to do their bit. Pretty good guess as to when it will actually get done. Does sound a bit like it doesn’t it. You’re only as good as your source…
Fair point. If someone does send me a PM I’ll put them to good use. I’ll delegate all my delegation to them
Not true. 2nd maybe. Strange you don't get called 'Mr Negative' just for also pointing out facts. Edit: FACTS
I can see the argument re: McCann from both sides. My personal opinion is We stick with him, invest in a couple of players to plug some holes and confirm our survival in the championship. McCann goes at the end of the season. Reason being, I don’t think we need that much to stay up, but wholesale changes in Jan could be risky. (And, whoever we buy in Jan, we’re never going to go up this season anyway). In the meantime, Acun, his prospective new manager and the rest of his team develop a list of targets and get them in as early as possible in the summer, and kick on in the new season.
I'm sorry Putney... but for me he has to walk now... take his money and go... HE has essentially a first team of players HE has chosen and if he got an £8 million striker he'd still play Magennis. or play him on the wing..... if we are to start a new and exciting era, I personally dont want his name anywhere near it...
If he were to stay, McCann is likely to get given say 3 or 4 players that are nothing like what he'd normally go for and he would be expected to play them and likely adapt his system again away from his set beliefs. Not sure it's tenable for either party. And, as welcomed as the short mini-revival was, has he really shown enough to warrant staying? He clearly has the dressing room still, but other than that, I personally don't think so.
Do you honesty think the new owner will want to be looking at each match as a must win. Here's the wake up call... despite the mini revival mentioned which came about because there was no choice.... 2 points from the last 12..... after the cup game we have Bournemouth, Stoke and Swansea....
