The EFL have confirmed that Pompey’s scheduled League One match at Plymouth on Wednesday has been postponed due to a number of Covid cases among the home side.

Supporters who have purchased tickets for this game are advised that they will remain valid for the rearranged date, which will be announced in due course.

    EFL Statement
Plymouth Argyle’s Sky Bet League One fixture versus Portsmouth on Wednesday, December 29 has been postponed.

Plymouth Argyle informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfil the fixture at Home Park due to a number of positive Covid-19 cases in their squad.

In light of the increased transmission rate of the Omicron variant, the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement.

In addition it will assist affected clubs throughout this challenging period to help them mitigate against the risk of infection amongst players and staff, while ensuring their obligations to the EFL regulations are maintained.

A rearranged date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.

Are we ever going to play again? At least the players will be very well rested... But the fixture backlog will be brutal, at least we're out of the FA and League Cup, and hopefully sanity prevails and we don't play any first team players in the EFL trophy.

I've heard a rumour Lapras, that it's only the Argyle tea lady Ethel that's contracted Covid !

Never mind though, we are due to play away to Cambridge United, Monday afternoon :emoticon-0148-yes:
