    Hello, everyone. Happy New Year!!!

A horse that I've been waiting a good while for to make his fencing bow is JUNGLE BOOGIE trained by WP, I say WP, Mullins. And do you know what, team, he does so tomorrow afternoon (3.15 Fairyhouse).

Look it doesn't take a genius to realise that Jungle Boogie has had his problems (will be an 8YO, of the morrow, and this will be just his 3rd run on a racecourse) but the little that he has shown to date has been very, very good and the old boy has hinted at Potential with a capital 'P'. His sole run, over hurdles, saw him romp home by 30 lengths back in February and in the process he looked exceptional to my eye.

Can't wiat to see Jungle Boogie over the big 'uns and am hopeful of a barnstorming run.

Good luck all. Both tomorrow and throughout 2022.

In the big handicap chase at Cheltenham (2.00) I am very keen on the chances of Alan King's Deyrann De Darjac. As a novice chaser he put in some really smart efforts including 3rd in the Berkshire Novices Chase (behind Champ and Black Op) and 3rd in the Dipper (behind Midnight Shadow and Paint The Dream) - not beaten very far at all on both occasions. That led the handicapper to give him a rather stiff looking opening mark of 145 in the 2020 Plate at the festival and he duly finished 17th. Alan King has kept him around 2 1/2 miles in 5 subsequent runs and his mark has now tumbled to a dangerous looking 131. He finished 5th in the Racing Post Gold Cup last time out, 13 1/2 lengths behind Coole Cody and is now 6lbs better off with that one and 4lbs with Zanza. Bet 365 go 20/1 this evening and that looks a tasty e/w price with 5 places on offer.

Those bookie chappies not giving much away, this morn, re Jungle Boogie. The original 3rd fave though now a non-runner which hasn't helped the price.

Meanwhile, I hope everyone got what they want in the old 'New Years Honours' List. Arise Sir, Dame, MBE and all that...

Top one now a non-runner, old boy.

Quite a few NRs come in over the past hour or so. The big race at Tramore now reduced to horses from just one stable!

    Oddy, re 2:00 Cheltenham.
Vienna Court flew up the hill last month and if in contention at the business end of the race could well get up again.

Up 12lbs today though - I think it will be tough for her off that revised mark. Good luck if you play though <ok>
