Got 18 holes in yesterday, nice long arduous walk. Had to walk back form a mates last night as the taxi didn't show, and have to walk back again in a bit to get my car. That's about all I've managed. Can't wait for Tuesday to be able to get back in the gym and start a new year fat boy programme. That **** Drakeford will probably crawl out of his cave tomorrow and close gyms, to protect someone or other from something because going the gym is dangerous like. #staysafe
Thinking of getting in shape this year. Not today though as just had a bacon sarnie and I'm off down the pub later, tomorrow no good as it's the Leeds match and will have a few beers etc. Monday is a bit tricky as the footy is on and quite fancy a pizza. I'm gonna pencil in Wednesday then.
Fell at the first hurdle this morning, planned to have some nice egg and bacon for breakfast but had no eggs so had bacon butty. No more bread from here on though. Or at very least, reduced considerably. Had fallen into the habit of eating too much white bread
Morning strut, taking in this tranquil cemetery. Kids refused to walk through here in the dark last night, don't blame them tbf.
Started the new year off with a 12 miler up here. Start as I mean to go on. My challenge this year is to learn how to jump my bike properly. Gonna book up at a bike park later this month which has got proper jumps and rollers etc.
Think the proper technique is needed. Get positioned too far fwd or back on a jump and you are doomed when landing! I’m just happy with road/trail riding. I’m too old for that and a big fan of not falling off
Yeah, I've been watching loads of videos. Meerkat technique seems to be the best. There's a few little jumps on the natural trails I do around here, so I'm hoping the rollers and lips will make it a bit easier tbh Got some elbow and knee pads for xmas, so I'm committed now lol.
Hmmm, could take that a couple of ways but, in the spirit of the new year, will naively take it as a joke, not a dig. Anyway, injury free so good to go. Was busy but not as daft packed as I expected. You can spot the newbies who won't be there by February a mile off.
Did 10 miles on turbo trainer tonight. Need to get back into habit/routine and get fitness back for spring. Sat looking at garage door while peddling is hard work.
Just signed up for a 108 mile 10,000 ft of uphill ride in Yorkshire Dales. Did it a few years ago and promised never again… But I need a target. https://ridethestruggle.com/products/struggle-dales-hardest-sportive-in-yorkshire
