Its not. Egypt firmly turned its back on Britain and the West with their revolution. Nasser wanted a secular socialist state as part of a growing pan-Arabism, and turned to the USSR for support. The USSR built the Aswan High Dam and other projects there. Also, Egypt was never really a colony of the UK, but more of a client state. It had its own king, although he was mostly a puppet. So they didn't (and don't) feel as if they were ever really a part of the British Empire like, say, Kenya or Singapore were.

It's just a ploy to drive traffic to the website until the post is made, this way it has people checking back frequently ( the hdm hope ) thus getting better add revenue. Hopefully it's the positive things that have happened today
