**** sake some of you lot are utter morons at times.

    Get a grip of yourself.

It isn't Ashley ****ting all over Harper because of player power, idiots.

    Face the facts:

Elliot can't be loaned out and Pardew wouldn't loan a new plate out straight away, considering how much effort they put into integrating new squad members with the rest of the team.

It's only a month long loan... He isn't dead and we haven't sold him.

He's not good enough to be our current #1

    He's been loaned out before.

Feel bad for Harper, and Elliot is the player who can still improve as he is only 25 so he should be the one going on loan. Not a big deal though, I'm sure Harper would rather be playing regular games in the Championship than rotating for a place in the reserves with Elliot.

I feel sorry for Harps, he's a real Geordie lad who has stuck with us through all those years as cover for Shay Given - he finally got to be number 1 under Chris Hughton but the emergence of Tim Krul has seen him edged out. With Pardew bringing in Elliot, it's looking like it's pretty much all over for him at Newcastle United.

He wont quit the club but I can see him being pushed.

It's those sort of responses that make the club a laughing stock amongst other fans though. We've *possibly* sent one of our two backup keepers out on loan for a month and they're about rise up against the management again... It's almost like you hate being happy with where the club currently is and just can't wait to be angry at someone and feel disappointed about something.

I don't agree with the rotation with Elliot and Harper, as I think Harper should be 2nd choice.

However, no matter what happens, Krul is our number one keeper by far, and nothing will change that, so if Harper wants more games, then perhaps this loan is the best choice for him.

He is arguably our most loyal player, but the harsh truth is that we would be intentionally weakening our team by using Harper over Krul just because he's been so loyal. If Harper truly cares about this team then I can't see how he would even want that to happen.

He is a pro. He will understand that Krul is a top keeper. Will have helped him become that since he was 16 when he signed for us

Harper's streets ahead of Elliott IMO, I'll be annoyed if this is true, simply because we'll be playing Elliott in the cup midweek.

Equally you could say that it's people like you that give the club a bad name. Nobody is saying 'rise up', it's just a fairly shoddy way to treat a player that has been with us for 19 years (despite easily being good enough to play for other EPL teams)

Why is harper loyal? As far as I know he hasn't had an offer from a better club so he has stayed here, that isn't loyalty. Loyalty is like shearer who turned down juventus and man u and probably more to stay here. Harper has just not been good enough all round, he's a decent shot stopper and a brilliant number 2 but he's never been convincing enough to hold down a number one shirt here.

He did say he was always asking to go out on loan, but SBR told him he wanted him to stay. Got an offer from Spurs in January before we were relegated.

I agree that Harper is better than Elliott. But it's only a month, it's not like he's being transferred or anything, and it will probably good for him to get some competitive playing time. And let's face it, with Krul on his current form, Harper is not going to get a start right now.

Is he really gutted? Or does he want this too because he wants to play a bit? Until I hear something from Harper himself I'm just going to think this is a bit of a mutual decision between him and the club - one which makes a fair bit of sense if you think about it - and there's nothing more to it than that.

By all accounts there is a really good atmosphere at the club right now, so until actually seeing evidence to the contrary I'm not going to buy into conspiracy theories about forcing Harper out for whatever reason.

I don't believe he been forced out. I just believe that everyone inside the club knows Krul is the best by far and Harper wants to play games - so he will be leaving
