Another win. A gutsy second half performance, given that a lot of the players looked ****ed. Most importantly, as RCL said, the stadium is now full of fans who believe we're going forward again.
Just what I was thinking. We look organised, well drilled and 100% more energy in all areas. Forgot the game was on so missed the better half, but thought the 2nd half performance was really competent. Continues to bode well (he whispered)
Thought the 2nd half performance was ok tbh (missed the first ) Spammers are a decent outfit and I thought we controlled the game quite well even if they did create a few half chances. You can see Contes influence and the players that he sees key to his plan - Lucas, Skippy and Ben particularly - but Bergy and Dele are definitely back in the mix if they continue to progress. Most positive I've been in ages - probably 3 years.
Son was disappointing but I thought the change in formation and Winks stabilised the midfield a bit and saw us through to the end.
Interesting match, not sure if I enjoyed the 2nd half, but we managed the game well and to be fair despite what seemed like a lot of pressure they actually created very few chances. You can certainly see that the team is now being coached by someone who has a clue.
I don’t think he did to be honest, West Ham took control of the ball for most of that half and it was mainly solid and dogged defending that saw us through. Needed Hojbjerg to bail him out at one point too, certainly not the Winks of the weekend. We were still creating half chances before Bergwijn and Lucas went off, when he and Son (who really was poor) came on it seemed to give West Ham the momentum.
