With the amount of players collapsing recently, I wonder if the Covid vaccine has a role to play in this.

    Sergio aguero
    Kingsley Coman
    Charlie wyke
    Emil palson
    Adama traora
    John fleck

All collapsed in the last 12 months.

Why would you make that assumption?

I think it might be more to do with the effects of the virus itself. Wyke isn't vaccinated.

It is weird how many players seem to be having problems, at the moment.

At their age they would only have been offered vaccine from end April- only 6 months ago ?

It’s not something I firmly believe, I’m putting the question out there to see what others think

pretty sure its been well discussed elsewhere mate, and most of the players affected were actually unvaccinated as it turns out, so nowt to do with vaccines.

The way things are at the moment, I say halt all football for 2 or 3 weeks.

Ok ive never seen it discussed elsewhere, not that ive been looking. Appeared strange that it had so few comments when usually plenty have lots to say about some very menial topics on here.
My bad then. It must not be vaccine related. ;)

Many of the players having issues have refused to have the vaccine by many accounts. So either unrelated or symptoms of the virus.

While this is merely a thought on your part, not any kind of assertion, it helps us to see how missinformation can get started on the net through these 'social sites'.

    You are wondering.
Some simple minded soul might take it as a fact and repeat it.
    Then it snowballs.

As for your curiosity, I'm affraid you will need to do a great deal more research to discover how right, or wrong, you might be.

You need to compare with similar events in previous years. Compare the statistics over a long period.

Then consider what other factors might exist.

For example, and I am pulling this thought completely 'out of the air', it is often said that players are fitter than they were in previous generations.
    The training is more intensive.
Can overtraining be harmfull in some cases.

You would also need to know more about the lifestyles of the players you list and of course the health history of their Families.
There MAY be some hereditary factor.
These players might indeed have some underlying, but previously undiscover health issue.

I'm sure other could add to this list.

Meanwhile, the answer to your question must be that Covid had no role at all to play, unless or until you can prove otherwise.

If I was a footballer earning thousands a week I'd be seeking the best independent scientific and medical advice before I took any vaccine. And if I came to the conclusion that taking one wasnt best for me, my family and career then I'd expect that decision to be respected. Sadly people dont seem to be allowed to make choices any more

    Sounds very fair.

But the reverse of that argument might be, 'I have the right to be infected and to infect anyone that I come into contact with'.

It seems to be becoming popular, at least in The USofA, for big companies to insist that all their employees who can be vaccinated, need to be. That way the Employer can not be sued for having a dangeroue working enviroment.
IN The UK it's the rule for those who work in Care Homes.

Go back to the early days of this infection and you may recall that elderly residents in some care homes were dying in large numbers of Covid.
Since few of these residents can move amongst the population, then the virus had to have been carried in, either by visitors or Staff.

However I don't see it, using the American model, that anyone is being compelled to be vaccinated.
But an Employer is free not to employ anyone who wishes not to be unvaccinated.

If someone, Footballer or a packer for Amazon, would rather find employment elswhere, that's his choice.

Perhaps the answer is to make everyone at work disclose their Vaccine Status.
Their collegues could decide if they were prepared to risk working with them.
And, NO, this is not a serious suggestion.

Never earned big money, but I was fortunate enough to get, as far as I can, The Best Scientific and Medical Advice, before being vaccinated.

This came from multiple sources, across the Scientific and Medical Communities.
It included the UK's Chief Medical Officer and the SAGE (Sientific Advisory Group for Emergencies), Committee.

All of these, eminently qualified experts advised in favour of vaccination.

Against was Donald Trump, (for example).

For ME, the anser was simmple.

I think there should be no more football this season. The top three teams in each division should be promoted. Oh, just realised that would mean we get promoted.
