I personally think we got here because Ashton kept selling our best players from under LJ. Others disagree.
We didn't help ourselves by allowing our top goalscorer and a semi-decent midfielder to walk, without being replaced. Others disagree.
I don't think the current squad are top 6 material, but I think they are better than bottom 3. Others disagree.

Whatever, lets see what we can do in the January window. Not a lot methinks......... but I live in hope....

I can see similarities to what they both took over and possibly measures taken, but to even come close to matching TC’s feat NP will need to achieve promotion to the PL. Fingers crossed eh!

Agree with much of this, I think selling was as much down to SL’s philosophy as Ashton carrying that philosophy out.

Mid table finish would be success for me this year, we have decent experienced player’s alongside some really good prospects, the trouble with relying so heavily on young players is their inconsistency. Hopefully a couple of decent signings of quality championship players in the summer, to add to our younger players having a years championship experience behind them, should mean we are in a better position next season. Keeping players fit will also play a major part in how well we do.

Patience is a virtue and he has a 3 year contract, he has coped with Covid 19, severe financial and player shortage, he now needs the financial backing to continue building a team, believe me I have not got the proverbial rose coloured specs about Nige, I truly respect TC, Cotts,GJ and the great AD but he must have time to develop a team and I do take on board TC days were different times.

One of the early day BCFC POSTS were when LJ was signed on and the " one of many 5 pillars came to pass" SL set out getting the club FFP and BETTER.. like getting into the red. Plan was to consolidate, build a better team, buy in and improve youngsters , get into profit and get to prem. To do so would entail selling the price is better than right players, hope some of the youngsters brought in made the first team others sold at profit. We did have 2 good chances of that, the final one was "when in with a chance" we sold Brownhill.
History shows that from that point we never recovered, closest point has been fleeted upon twice, prior to LJ leaving and when DH hit a sticky spot, and SL in so many words stated that maybe he should have waited!
However MA went over board with the task in hand, on the Brownhill case he really scuppered BCFC .. team were doing OK in with a shout, BCFC were well within FFP and should have just bought WELLS and kept Brownhill...

YEP anywhere from 9th to 16th on points would be good and expected
