I'm a tad more optimistic , I'd go with Mendy, James, Kante, Mount and Rudi. Next rung down is Chalobah, Kovacic ,Ziyech, Silva,, Havertz, Dave, Christensen, Chilwell, Jorginho, Then Werner,Lukaku, CHO Alonso. Finally Saul, Pulisic.
A few in the middle rung can definitely improve to the top rung.
Which changes nothing really. We are desperate for striker, midfield general, left wing back and 2 defenders seeing we will lose Rudi, Dave and Alonso almost certainly.

 

I don't think it's the depth per se it's just a lot more quality within the XI (especially in attacking positions).
