Well the learning curb still goes on but for how much longer ??? All 38 games.I was pig sick yesterday after droping those two points.I was unhappy with Sinclair at several moments in the match for keeping the ball for far to long and looking for the glory himself and why oh why does Dyer get brought of all the time,If he's was on the pitch he would have done a better job at defending down our right hand side than the five other Swansea players did just before Wolves equalised.. The learning curb has to be over now and the players must show a ruthless streak and stand up and be counted from now on in.
Learning curve, mate. QPR beating 9 man Chelsea as I write. If it stays like that we'll be down to 15th. If we'd have won yesterday we'd be 12th.
yes really need chelsea to get something from this game though it looks a tall order i must say. Norwich get something from Liverpool QPR could get something today all bonus points that they would not be looking to gain normally . Swans can do it at this level but they have to play for 90mins we have been patchy and are looking like the weakest promoted team so far .
I must also add that when we had Chelsea on the ropes for 15mins we lacked the beleif that we could compete , they like any other team are vulnerable when you get at them, too much respect shown by our players while QPR are showing them none what so ever !!
Game over. QPR beat Chelsea 1 nil. Still think our home form will see us through in this League and we will pick up points on the road. I know others disagree, and probably with good reason, but I still don't particularly rate either Norwich or QPR. Liverpool should have won by 5 or 6 yesterday and Chelsea committed suicide today by getting 2 men sent off early - and still ended up with 55% possession! Anelka missed a sitter too. Both Norwich and QPR have had a run of fortune that can't continue. Whatever happens I'll be disappointed if we don't finish above them.
i don't think we are as strong or physical as both qpr and norwich and they both have more drive to grind out results away from home than us. We will need 4 or 5 players come january if we are going to have any chance of staying up. our bench looks weak and our defence looks dodgy....
please log in to view this image This I agree with, and when you look at the thrashing that Man city gave, old bacon face, then you can see that our result looks good at 4-0, at least we kept Man city out for the best part of an hour (57 Minutes), while Manu could barely manage 20 minutes before Balotelli struck at 22 minutes! I think we'll be fine if Rodgers stops taking our best players off before we've closed the win, and he'd better learn the lesson fast, it's he, Rodgers that cost us the game, not the boys, why jeopardise our first away win with taking Dyer and Britton off, and then bringing on Orlandi, who has not seen any first team action for some time, and away from home as well, and I'll say it again Garry Monk is not up to the task at this level, time for Rodgers to stick with his strongest starting 11, and strengthen the bench in January!............. please log in to view this image
So so disappointed with the result yesterday & on the final whistle my feeling was that our manager contributed to it!! Why fix it, if it's not broke??!! I really thought Leon was injured to have been brought off. Then to replace him with light-weight Orlandi was disturbing to say the least for me. As soon as I saw him being lined-up on the touch-line I really feared the worst!! Well, we all know what happened.... I last watched Orlandi for the reserves against Liverpool & he wasn't good enough for that level, how he gets anywhere near the first team is beyond me?? I appreciate we have a few injuries, but I'd rather see Jazz come on ahead of Orlandi in the match day squad!! He just doesn't have the physicality, urgency or presence, to affect us at this level!! If this is our answer to holding a 2 nil lead away in the last 15/20, god help us!! Then there was Dyer. He helps in keeping our shape & organisation when we need to get behind the ball. Not 'run-fast, look-busy' Routledge!! It was wide open down the right leading to the equaliser. All the defence got so pulled out of position, we got cut wide open!!!! I didn't think we needed to change anything, we just needed to see the game out!! Brendan needs to learn quickly from this. Our defence is fragile as it is, without putting undue stress on it with 'limp' substitutions, that lead us wide-open.... On the plus side, apart from our first away point!! Joe Allen & Danny Graham were fantastic. Great to see Danny-boy getting some well earned end-product for his efforts. Many didn't have much hope in him a few weeks back, it's amazing how things change!! Well little Joe gets better & better, his movement & finish for his goal was sheer class. I've always hoped he could fulfil his potential, but he's surpassed that & looks at home in the Premier league. Doing it on the international stage too!! Lets hope he gets more freedom to venture forward & get in positions where it hurts teams. Like to see him, Leon & Agustien as a three, when Kemy comes back....

Top post WSAF- my Jack mates back home would no doubt say exactly the same thing in the pub afterwards! There Are many who Think this was a rodgers mistake, i Think he knows it too , by trying to protect his players and keep the best fresh he has lost 2 pts. I Think he is trying to micro manage our limited resources with These regular subs ,its a very hard balance to strike and it didnt work on saturday. We come back to resources yet again ,we Are so so close to being decent at this level but defensive cover in midfield and at the back we lack big time. Kemy has player well this season but we need more options if we Are going to sur ive. I dont really see us bringing in many players in january maybe a Loan signing plus one other but i Think this Will not be enough for us to acheive our goal . The only option i see is to try some of the younger players like jazz ,casey and Lucas ,hopefully These boys can play without fest and learn the curve quicker than some of our dodgy pro s like butler
Cheers Norway!! Nice of you to feel I'm in like minded company with your Jack mates back home with my spin on the events at Wolves!! Was going to mention Lucas too actually, but not sure if it's at the right stage of his development to be exposed to the 'big-time'!! If indeed, he could even fulfil this level??!! Then again, we've thrown a couple of the other kids in the 'deep-end' when needs be in the past. Maybe that's something that can maketh a man.....
Cheers Dragon What's most upsetting is knowing how close we could be to being a comfortable team in this league. That's what annoys us the most......
Agree flying, we are making life difficult for ourselves, it's time to keep things simple, and we'll be comfortable here, I hope we don't see a repeat of this!.................
Well were not gonna do wot derby did by xmas as many predicted at the start, and some teams who spent big last season are now in the championship ie. hull. I think we will prob get the odd hammering as a new low spending (but financially secure) team in the prem but i feel weve got the class to put a run together sooner or later and settle in nicely, especially against the lower end of the table teams. The fittness/stamina levels will increase as time goes by assuming the right conditioning staff are onboard like when jacket sorted it out and we ran riot in L1 all be it a much higher & intense level now . See where we are in the new year then decide iff we need to stress about it ay !!
swantastic-fair comments , but i also think there will be a fair amount of frustration when we throw games like we did on saturday, the general feeling is that we could do quite well if we stop shooting ourselves in the foot (arsenal, norwich and wolves) i dont expect us to go on a good run of form as i think the prem league is too unpridictable and too hard to do that with our resources , i think its going to be a scrap in every game and the fine detail will be the difference between winning or losing, detail like getting the subs wrong and giving the other team a boost for example!! we are doing ok but i think this 1st quarter should have given us more points. The second half of the season isnt going to get easier its going to be harder, the suprise element will be gone and we will be dealing with fresh injury problems and suspensions , i guess its as frustrating for the manager and players as it is for the fans , i feel we are 2-3 players short of being a comfortable premier league side. Relegation will see us lose 4-5 players and possibly the manager a massive rebuilding process would be needed so i think it makes sense to push the boat out a little bit and try ans secure prem status I think rodgers and the board may well be thinking he same way ,now that there has been time to assess the players and they have had a chance to show what they can or cannot do in the prem league the subject of team strengthening becomes clear, it must happen!! though i am happy to see us gamble with some of our own local talent and see what happens
we need to strengthen the team in jan , and gamble with one or two youngsters if needed . i think jazz can do a job at this level
Fair point norway a big gamble either spend spend spend in jan & hope it works for us or fight on to stay up with money as a buffer incase we have to do the yoyo thing. Being the manager must be a head fk most of the time damned iff you do and damned iff you dont what with subs and securing the long term future of our club etc..! I hope we can win most of our home games and get as many draws at the least when away.
Yes i wouldnt fancy rodgers job ! He cant afford to Get any signing wrong either which makes his choices Even more critical . I have confidence in him to make the right choices he seems brighter than martinez and sousa so im sure he Will learn to cope at this level. Long term future of our club is important but i Think a calculated risk is worth it. If we go down the likes of ash, sinclair, lita, routledge, dyer, vorm and allen Will be targets but they Are under contract so we could probably fetch €20m for that lot ,enough to build a team in the npc without touching the prem money,so There Are good options for the club at the moment
im sure hj is doing his sums constantly and that theres enough spare cash left to give rogers a chance in the jan sales to pick up another bargain gem or two and to keep rogers happy doing his job here. Either way there will be some serious money available for a few years yet to stay in touch with the top flight .
