IIRC Skipp and Lo Celso are also in contention but the painful reality is as soon as either Skipp or Hojbjerg are missing (the latter is definitely out), the drop in quality is terrifying. Needs to be fixed in January as it is killing the team.
Playing Dele and Ndombele is the equivalent of starting with 10 men, possibly 9. At least Winks will try. Will be the most tragic midfield in the Premier League this season
Remember how Conte has us playing rope-a-dope tactics by leading teams into us before springing the trap? I think he might be a little too confident in that tactic if he's lining up with Dele and Ndombele...
I hope so as unless something drastic has happened over the last few weeks, I can’t see how that trio will even come close to competing against a side like Liverpool. I wouldn’t trust those 3 to play against most championship sides let alone one of the best teams in Europe.
The only positive is that Liverpool are without some big names, and their bench isn’t as strong as they’d want it to be. it’s a shame not to see some of our benched players starting today, as I think we could have caused Liverpool problems. What’s probably more likely is we’ll be chasing the game before they come on. Ndombele, Winks and Dele means we’re playing 8v11.
