Tory MPs told they can email letters of no confidence in Boris Johnson over Christmas

Unless you have a Telegraph subscription or are smart enough to bypass the paywall, you will have to take my word for it...

I know Sir Graham Brady was one of the 100 Tory MPs that voted against Boris the other night but it transpires that the entire 1922 Committee joined him. Normally, an MP wishing to submit a letter of no confidence has to do it in person; however, with Parliament about to go into recess for Christmas, it is now acceptable to submit a letter by email, which Sir Graham will accept if the MP calls him up to confirm the emailed letter is genuine.

It will require 54 Tory MPs to submit letters to cause the 1922 Committee to hold a vote of no confidence that could trigger a leadership election. Could the North Shropshire by-election result trigger more disenchanted MPs to want shot of Boris?
