Sunderland visit Ipswich in the SkyBet League One. Last time out Sunderland beat Plymouth and Ipswich lost to Barrow in the FA Cup Sunderland beat Plymouth Argyle 2-1 at the Stadium of Light to register back-to-back wins at home and move into 3rd position in the League, 2 points behind leaders Rotherham. The Black Cats have an additional injury concern with Lynden Gooch nursing a groin strain. Gooch has been an important part of Sunderland’s improved form and performances over the last week, impressing in an unfamiliar left-sided role. Denver Hume is closing on a return to fitness and while Dennis Cirkin is not too far behind him, Corry Evans is also closing on a return from injury, though he will not be available this weekend. Ipswich sacked Paul Cook last week after a run of poor results, the draw at Wigan seeing Ipswich drop to 12th in the table. The Tractor Boys lost 2-0 at League Two Barrow in the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night having rested 7 first team players. A statue of club legend Kevin Beattie will be unveiled prior to the game on Saturday. With a near full capacity expected for Saturday's visit of Sunderland, the Club is urging supporters to arrive early to ease congestion, with Covid-19 entry requirements in place. Please have your NHS COVID Pass or negative lateral flow test ready to show. Lee Johnson "We haven’t seen him (Gooch) on the grass this week because the mindset was that we’d give it as much healing time as possible before we do a fitness test on it. He’ll probably have one on Friday.” "We’ll plan for having him and we’ll plan to be without him. It’s just one of those tricky scenarios where with so many games, we may choose to leave him out of this particular one.” "Any player we lose is going to be a blow, and we’ve had to work really hard to find those tactical solutions of late, players have had to buy into changing positions, and buy into us trying to find moments in games where they can bring their natural assets. “Lynden is a really good example of that, particularly the last three games where he’s played really, really well. He made a slight mistake against Oxford United but has then gone on and had a really positive impact on the next two games.” John McGreal: (Caretaker) "We didn't perform the other night but even when we went to warm up this afternoon, they were so receptive to us, it was a horrible day to travel and it's a good five hours or so away, so I have nothing but praise for them. "Our fans follow us and give us great support. We gave them a performance today, and yes there are things to work on still, but the performance will hopefully give them a happy journey home. "I love the fans to death and that's been the case ever since I first played here." James Norwood is back in the squad after missing a few games under Paul Cook. For all those travelling to the game, get in early as there will be queues due to Covid checks. I’m going for a sneaky 2-1 away win Live Stream (Overseas fans) https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/live-video Ha’way the Lads
great thread RTB and i like quite a few of the points you have highlighted, especially where they are weak, and our strong points should go well into opening up those weak areas , looking forward to a win here and hopefully contribute to a top two position ill go for a 3-1 to Sunderland
Great thread as always, I use these threads as an early start to the weekend . If Gooch isn't fit I reckon Hume will start based on what he has said in his press conference, wouldn't be surprised to see Cirkin on the bench either. If we score early I reckon we will win. I'll go for a 1-2 with Stewart and Flanno getting the goals. A draw wouldn't be a bad result but I'm positive about getting the win. Plan B information from Ipswich Town FC for those going down... https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/december/plan-b-covid-entry-to-portman-road/
HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM With all the injuries and a run of bad form I just hoped we could keep in touch with the top two going into the Christmas period. We've pushed up to 3rd which is fantastic and with Gooch out as well now a 0 - 1 win would be marvelous. Well done to Lee Johnson and the lads for getting us back on track. https://www.11v11.com/teams/sunderland/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Ipswich Town/ Ipswich is a town in Suffolk, a county in eastern England. Set on the River Orwell, its waterfront is lined with cafes, galleries and shops, and the 19th-century Old Custom House, which recalls the city’s maritime history. Next to Christchurch Park, the 500-year-old Christchurch Mansion has a Tudor kitchen and the Wolsey Art Gallery. Ipswich Museum and Gallery, in a Victorian building, has natural history exhibits. Famous people from Ipswich include. Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. Brian Cant, play school, play away. Ralph Fiennes, actor. Keiran Dyer, footballer, Booooo.
He'd be crazy to start Hume in my opinion. I'm probably one of his biggest fans but the lads made of wet cardboard at the best of times. He can't be anywhere near match fit. -------------------Hoffman------------------- Wright-------Alves---Flanagan---Doyle -----------Winchester---Neil---------------- Dajaku----------Pritchard--------Broadhead ----------------------Stewart--------------------------- Patterson Younger Dyce Embleton Kimpioka O'Brien A N other
Keep them quiet first twenty minutes, better still score early and shut their fans up, feel Ipswich are low on confidence so a quick start by us similar to last two home games and we could be home and hosed. Great thread again RTB and wish everyone travelling a safe journey HTL.
Does anyone know if the overseas streaming service will work for a UK based device that I take overseas? I’m heading to a warmer climate over Christmas and if I can watch that would be great. Thanks in advance
It should take the IP address of whatever WiFi network you connect the device to when you are abroad and it will know it's not in the UK.
