Under prepared and a very soft under belly, not convinced with our openers, and our middle order need game time to get up to speed. Don't think it will get much better, but at least we have Anderson and Broady to come back to breathe a little.life into the bowling attack.
Aussie batting first, good start by England, Harris has gone, bowled Broad, caught Buttler for 3, 7-1 after 8 overs. Warner still to get off the mark.
Buttler just dropped Labuschagne on 95. Absolute sitter off Anderson. Can't see us getting much joy out of this test, attack looks very predictable and apart from Roots off spin, no variation. Selectors seem to be blinkered as to what is the best team to play in Aus.
We are really up against it again, they will probably try to bat until twilight and then declare and put us in. We really need quick wickets tomorrow morning to stand any chance of getting something out of this game.
Well predicted! Aus batted as you said declaring at 473-9. England faced 8 overs losing both openers to be 17-2 before rain finished the day. Prediction for tomorrow?
We will be all out for around 240, and possibly will be made to follow on. I hope I'm wrong, but our batting apart from Root is fragile under pressure.
Much better morning, 140-2, both Malan and Root get their fifties with 68 & 57, let's hope they can continue after lunch.
Useless statistic for all 7 Day/Night tests played in Aus. All won by Aus with 1 against England here in Adelaide. They are on a dinner break now as they don't start play until mid-afternoon!
Great prediction John. England 236 all out. Do you have tonight’s lottery winning numbers by any chance?
Poor stuff this. 150/2 to 234 all out, players just not up for it. I get all that about lack of preparation and what have you but really some of them are just not good enough.
Weather will cool significantly over the next couple of days. A little rain tomorrow but forecast to clear before afternoon start of play. No rain Monday.
5th Test starts on January 14th in Hobart with another Day/Night match. Then follows the Women's 3 match Ashes series plus T20's and OD matches finishing just after mid-Feb - then Super League!
