ive gone for Jonny Clayton , but gutted only got 7/1 , he was still about 25/1 when i looked a couple of months ago .
should have gone straight in then but left it too long and a couple of big wins brought his odds tumbling.
ive also gone Wade e/w @ 40/1 , there is more a loyalty bet as done it every year since 2008 and the one year i dont he will finally get too a final <laugh>
Cross e/w too @ 28/1 as i think he is better when he is slight underdog , struggled a bit after winning the world championships and been the favourite all the time .
as usual i probably wont have a player left by 3rd round.

There's not really a lot to talk about with darts though, is there? Other than repeatedly throwing a dart accurately and arithmetic?

Totally agree, got a new dart board and two sets of darts for me born day. Great game to play and one that it’s the practice that gets you better, mind when you play for a team it can get very serious lol

As a social gathering it’s brilliant and gets everyone in the same room unlike those other so called better sports and when you hit the double to win, it’s a brilliant feeling, especially if you play a good larker….

I get it’s a good night out. You’re not sat there discussing someone opting for lighter darts or someone’s grip though are you?

Abso-****ing-lutly… with one dart in your hand and a double 16 to win, the pub deadly quiet, your arse going… you cannot tell me that’s not exciting.
I’ve honestly been there so many times, I won a cup in Beverley, tetley threes literally on my own. One of those nights where the trebles and doubles are a foot wide and you cannot miss. I finished on a bull, the pub went ballistic, the team we played were the top of the league and not very liked. One of the lads has since sadly died, I still have my trophy and a photo of the three of us. I’d like to think that was a good memory for him before he passed.

My earliest memory of Darts is watching my dad in the 1991 Primrose valley holiday tournament , he was 2-0 down in the final and came back to win 3-2 , for a while as a 9 year old boy he was my sporting hero , I remember the excitement , I remember the look of horror on the opponents kids face as their dad bottled it, me smugly sipping on my Coca Cola , walking round the site next to my dad feeling 10 foot tall , basking in the glory <laugh>…he has a lot of collections in his loft like coins etc that are probably worth a bit , but I’ve told him that when he goes, all I want is that plastic trophy , great memories

    16 years old

Fabian Schmutzler will become the second youngest player to ever grace the World Championship stage when he steps onto the oche to face Ryan Meikle. The 16-year-old earned his spot through his performances on the PDC European Development Tour and this will be an invaluable experience for him with a bright future predicted for the German. Meikle, meanwhile, will be stepping up for the third time at Ally Pally and, having fallen at the first hurdle on both previous occasions, will see this as an excellent opportunity to get a World Championship win under his belt. That added experience should aid Meikle here, and having recorded some notable victories on tour this year, should have enough to see off the youngster.

One whiff of Beats brut and it’s game over she’ll be putty in his hands

Fallon Sherrock will face Steve Beaton on Sunday, December 19 as she returns to the stage where she famously became the first woman to beat a man at a World Championship two years ago.
