I'm sorry fella's i know i am a thick ****, but even i know that's not how you spell nonce. I feel quite intelejent now.
Not plastics matey, I had them down as and hoped they would become 'new' fans, I persuaded them to come along. The pub we used then was full of these new fans all wearing new scarves too, now the same pub is back to normal with the dozen or so regulars on a match day who were in there when promotion to the PL was still considered a joke for this club. All bar one ( my grandson) stopped going because we stopped winning. My grandson's mates stopped going, so he did, I will give you that, the price for kids was ridiculous for a while. To counter act that I see more teenagers at City now then I have seen for years so something is right. I'm not in denial that the seat moving and the stopping of concessions stopped a lot of people going. There are many things that I cannot afford to do because of price, it doesn't stop me doing them when I can afford it though. I also accept that once you ( or some) break the habit of attending football every other week they soon find something else to do. But they were all doing something else on a Saturday before we started winning too were they not because they were not at City ? The Allams got the pricing wrong, and I can understand why people then stopped going every home game, but it is cheaper now then it has been for 20 years and more, so if those people enjoyed their football so much then, why haven't they returned now when the pricing has been sorted out ?
Perhaps finances have changed for them, or other personal reasons, we can't just assume it's pricing for them all , maybe they dislike owner or illness, maybe enjoy doing family stuff more now there could be 100 reasons why people have stopped. The last couple of years especially have been hard for everyone i even found myself talking to family members.
I haven't gone because the Allams are still the owners. I stopped going when they stopped the concessions. I adore football but morally couldn't justify attending after they had priced out our older fans and stopped the next generation of fans attending by being greedy ****s. I don't even know how much it is now to be completely honest. I will return when the Allams have gone. Can't wait.
We were getting around 20k at times before the PL. We averaged over 20k in league 2 nearly 20 tears ago. They’ve lost many long term supporters. Maybe not as long term as you but some were 15-20 years. Many did turn up for the PL but a lot of those were occasional supporters coming more often. I’d been going since the 70s my lad since around 1999. The “plastic” comment was meant to be light hearted. It is cheaper now but if new habits have been formed & the money being spent now is appreciated why would people return?
The same for me i can't wait to use my box again i have forgot what it is like to attend chelsea it's so exciting.
Same reason they returned between the great escape season and getting out of L2. Gravy or curry sauce?
