Not done anything we hoped he would. New striker, left wing back, and CD is looking crucial. Funny that's exactly what we needed pre season. Bring back Gallagher, Anjorin and Broja, better than what we have .

Lukaku was a colossal waste of money. Our midfield needs a clear out but we also don’t want to chuck kids in to fill the gaps. We need to be thinking about how we replace Kante too.

We're pretty average at home. I'd have much rather we were playing at Goodison (never thought I'd say that).
That's an embarrassing result. Full credit to Everton who showed a lot of heart. As I said before we are nowhere close to City/LFC over 38 games.
Blame the missing players, but you have to start wondering why supposedly "world class" players like Mount, James, Ziyech, Silva simply cannot score goals your grandmother would put away. What Pulisic is doing in our team is beyond me, useless show pony who spends his life injured, then has one good game before disappearing for another month. Truth is NONE of them are complete players except Silva, all well above average but none are truly "world class" yet, or still.. We have been kidding ourselves for too long and are falling well behind City and Liverpool for true quality players. Plenty of time for most of them to improve, but definitely time they all started to SHOW improvement in their all round game, particularly scoring. Some exception for James who has a couple ,but Mount despite getting a few, is no Lampard when it comes to scoring, and Ziyech doesn't get enough either. And brother we need a striker, any striker who can actually score, cause none of ours can !! How frustrating to see such a display against one of the worst teams in the comp, AND let in another late goal. All coming undone at the seams a bit lately, and time Audi started to think about who to get rid of and who to bring in, too many not quite goodenoughs masquerading as top players, all starting to show their limitations.
Completely agree with everything you've said bar this but. We don't have any world class players, at least not in an attacking sense anyway. The last world class difference-maker we had was Hazard - we've replaced him with a combination of mediocre players and young ones who are at least 3/4 years from their prime.
Do we ever !! Our first team showed that they can compete at the top by winning the PL. problem is they can't play that way on a regular basis due to a lack of top quality in the subs. So many injuries is not helping , but it's starting to feel like Lukaku, Pulisic, CHO, Alonso for starters just don't quite make the grade.
Had James and Mount not missed sitters in the first half the game would’ve been won at half time and all the headlines would be about winning the title. It was a weird game, should’ve won about 4-0 but it wasn’t to be. We do need at least one of Kovacic and Kante back, bit more pace in midfield and the ability to carry the ball forward which RLC doesn’t seem to be as much anymore and Jorginho has never done. They can cover more ground and we’ll stop conceding goals when they return. Just a bad run of form but we’re relying on too many players who don’t suit us at the minute. I thought Saul was a great signing at the time but he’s miles off the pace and some of the other fringe players are struggling too.
Think you're right on the mark, Once the midfield core players return we should at least stop leaking the goals we have been doing. Marina and Audi will be able to move on the players who have fallen short, particularly at seasons end, and better players for our weaker positions brought in. We still have more than enough talent to worry the current top two and get that 3rd or 4th European spot. Top looks unlikely, but top 4 needs to be priority now.
It just shows you how important the key players are in our team. City and Liverpool have more quality in depth than we do, recent results have shown that. Given the best 11 against any team in the world we are good, take away our finest, of which there is three, we become average. (I got three lets have your opinion.)
