Paywalled, but https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...-from-toto-wolff-mcs6cbbz7#Echobox=1639389959 I believe any appeal would be held at the International Court of Appeal (ICA), and then elevated to CAS if no solution is found.
I have found it on Planet F1 but he made the request before the first appeal and the Team went ahead with the appeal and stated their intent to lodge the second appeal. So not sure it is a valid status at this moment.
Probably got lost but just realised Sainz beat Leclerc this season. Thats a huge result! Well done Carlos
I think Jordan was also right, Hamilton has got too nice. He could have and should have defended harder. It would have ended up in a collision because Max doesn’t seem to care.
That is in fact big news. LeClerc has put the car into the barriers quite a bit in the practise sessions.
I did like that too. Nothing against CLC but I was hoping Carlos would give him a good run as Ferrari but so much faith in CLC.
Points deduction for Max. The problem is, Max has been able to get away with aggressive passes. Next season Hamilton needs to just getting smashed from him so he starts to get penalised. If not, this will just carry on
Max has a very simple technique for passing Lewis. He dives up the inside with excessive speed, then puts too much lock on so he oversteers wide leaving no space on the outside. If he ever gets challenged his excuse is he understeered so couldn't give any space. The problem is he causes the understeer on purpose. Until he gets punished properly he won't change his technique as he has got away with it so far so why would he change?
He won’t change until he starts causing collisions. I suspect competitors will let him cause collisions early on next season so that he starts to get penalised for it
Nice youtube vid from ChainBear on the final 5 laps: His conclusion is basically inconsistent decisions, as has been said by quite a few here.
Many of us do, why? because there is a super authority intervening in the result that should be decided by the teams and drivers, within the agreed rules.
Felt in a similar manner all day.... The more I thought about it, the more utterly appalled I have become. Masi must have known exactly what was going to happen once it went green, and he did it anyway. He decided this title, not the racing, and it's bloody maddening. Never been so disillusioned with the sport as I am right now.
Masi has had the feel of needy little attention chaser from the get go this year, I cannot stand him and his flippant comment towards Wolff really wound me up.
I'm glad he commented on hamilton's blatant corner cutting on lap 1. seems a good summation of the issue at hand.
If you look at 2 events in F1 which are defining in 2021 I think you could feel OK with Max being WDC. The first was Emilia Romagna where Lewis struggled in the wet ( I think he was also still sufferring from Long Covid ). Lewis was a lap down and nowhere near being in the points. The race was red flagged. Lewis, along with others, was allowed to unlap himself before the restart. As a consequence he secured 18 points that he had no real chance of prior to the red flag. In that instance Lewis gained an unexpected position and I did say, at the time, I felt he needed to win the championship by more than 18 points. Ironically it was a different handling of the lap cars that cost him the championship. Max drove exceptionally well this year with a slower car, albeit aggressively. His lunges on the inside being worse than Lewis on the inside at Copse. I am OK with Max being WDC, he has been super competitive. What galls me, is Masi determining the outcome, which he did, and in the way he did. I don't think the WDC should change now but I do think the rules need to be properly established, Masi can not be a decider of a race outcome by over ruling the written rule knowing full well it will change the winner. If that is the objective and outcome of a mercedes challenge, I fully support the challenge.
