I don't want to be "that guy" but that number appears to be 21.6 Septillion ;)

i'd have to agree since we seem to have been swamped by the u.s. versions of these numbers. i'd prefer it to be 21.6 quadrillion, but, given the aforementioned capitulation, i'd be in a tiny minority.

putting it another way we're talking 21.6 yottaplanets.

I confess I’ve not been following this discussion - but an ISS pass lasts about two minutes to cross the sky.

It's doing 17,500MPH so yeah, it's shifting. It reflects a lot of light so to the naked eye it will look spherical but if you manage to get a telescope or decent binoculars on it, you can clearly make out it's shape. The best bit is, you can find out when the next pass over your location occurs and you can watch it again to see if it matches what you saw.

For a low pass, yeah, but an overhead pass can take at least 6 minutes.

Honestly I’ve seen the space station it’s almost the brightest thing in the sky but this thing did not look anything like it, was perfectly round and from a standing start started to move. Straight across the night sky, between mountains and then just disappeared… I’ve seen the space station up in the sky sat in my back garden in Hull, this was not that…..

Maybe a little stretch at a Ferrari, more like a coughing fiesta but still moving too fast than something that far up…

Like a geek I've checked where the ISS was last Tuesday and it passed over Malaga that evening. It would be quite a coincidence if that isn't what you saw.

If I had to put my life on it I’d say more than 3 but definitely less than 5 minutes

There was a lower pass (closer to the horizon) about 90 minutes later (one orbit of the Earth) that would have been visible for about 3 minutes.

Absolutely no way it was the iss, this thing moved so fast it was definitely in our atmosphere and as far as I’m aware the space station is not that close.. or maybe I’m wrong??? I have seen that iss in the sky and this was so much bigger and totally round

    Well done!

One other thing, the ISS was travelling in the direction you describe, from the West and then over Africa.
