I'm not sure, it's your body. You do what you think is best. I'm not interested in anyone's vaccine status. It's a personal choice.

Me neither to be honest. No matter ones vaccine status, we can all still catch it, we can all still infect others and we can all still get ill from it.

It may protect us from getting too ill from covid and hospitalisation or it may make some people worse than they were before having it, like my mrs and my ****ing left arm!!!

It's all too confusing Bob. I've tried to comply, it seems that the vacs aren't what they said they were.

For what it's worth, my missus bought into the idea of the double vaccination. She is refusing the booster.

Covid-19: Man receives up to 10 vaccines in one day

It's believed a man was paid to be vaccinated on behalf of others.
A man was vaccinated against Covid-19 up to 10 times in one day on behalf of other people, prompting an investigation by the Ministry of Health.

It is believed the man, who is understood to have visited several vaccination centres, was paid for the jabs.

In response to questions from Stuff, Astrid Koornneef, the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 vaccine and immunisation programme group manager, said the ministry was “aware of the issue”.

Nobody lied... The virus is evolving.

The vaccine has protected against the alpha and delta variants. And prevented many people from getting seriously ill...and is still doing that....

But because so many poor countries have not been able to vaccinate a new variant has evolved that is more transmissable, and is taking over.

If you compare the figures last time we had 50,000 cases a day ..we had a 1000 deaths.. now it is about 120.

As have said...hubbie and I have had covid...he was ill but not hospitalised, I was asymptomatic. I am delighted with that. Thank you vaccine.

I totally understand what you are saying Beth and appreciate and respect your opinions. My sis inlaws whole family caught covid without any vaccinations, all totally fine and have now built up a natural defence of antibodies, so much so that when she caught it for a 2nd time in August her main symptom was a sniffle. Another sis in law (nurse) has had all jabs and booster and also caught covid after 2 jabs resulting in a nasty cold type virus, she has recently had her booster and a big lump has appeared under her armpit and she is quite unwell. Im not an anti vaxer by any stretch of the imagination but im in a difficult position regarding my wife. Ive personally decided not to have the booster, thats my choice but for people (not so much on here) to call that selfish is totally wrong. Vacinated or unvacinated can catch it, spread it and end up in hospital.

Im at the moment testing twice a day as i have the worst head cold i can remember. Ive avoided going to work just incase the lateral flows are incorrect. Im going to arrange a pcr test to confirm. Its quite ironic as i was only saying to the mrs last week that i cant remember the last time i had a cold, apart from after the 1st jab. Must be 3 years at least. Anyway will keep you updated.

Sure its just a cold to be fair but will double check with a pcr.
Im thinking of why and how vaccine passports will help im any way. I can understand them from a travel point of view but all vaccinated people can still catch the virus and spread the virus so what does a vaccine passport actually do?

Professor Eleanor Riley, Professor of immunology and infectious diseases at Edinburgh University, says we should assume that anyone we come into contact with has the new variant. If they have had a negative lateral flow test within the last couple of hours we can perhaps be a little more confident that they haven’t got it.

If this is true, or even partially true, it’s completely pointless trying to resist this thing, especially with the half hearted measures we have at the moment. Another full lockdown is the only logical option unless everyone gets their booster jab in the next week. But we can’t afford another lockdown, we can’t pay furlough again. What we should brace ourselves for is a collapse of the NHS and plan accordingly. Even if this variant is less ‘serious’ than previous ones (no evidence that I have seen for this) and the vaccine does provide some protection from serious disease, with 100,000 plus cases a day we are going to have huge numbers needing hospitals.

The experts are really piling on the fear again. I’m not sure if it’s helpful.

I fully respect and understand the opinions on here that the jabs aren't effective, based on people's personal experiences.
However, listening to scientists, I have concluded that I'm better off with the jabs than without.
The overwhelming evidence seems to be that I'm far less likely to get seriously ill if I get covid and less likely to actually catch it if I've had two AZ jabs and 1 moderna.

I think we have reached the point where we have to live with this thing.
Keep vaccinating, but no restrictions bar possibly masks in shops and on transport etc.

That’s my gut feeling, but it almost guarantees that hospitals will sink and the economy will collapse if those who test positive or come into contact with those who have, millions of people a week, have to isolate for ten days as is the rule in Scotland. Pingdemic#2 on the way.

Going round to dinner at a mates tonight. Only six of us going, we are all old and have had 3 doses of vaccine and will all take a lateral flow test before we go. This is nuts. Scientists are advising that we all take flow tests every time we go out and at least daily. Completely pointless of course unless absolutely everyone does this all the time, which they won’t.

I’m going to have to stop thinking about this, it’s getting depressing……there’s always the cricket….oh balls.

Our booster up here is Pfizer - not sure why there's no Moderna, but I've had two AZ already so Pfizer is cool with me.

Booked in for mine next Saturday - I've had Covid, back when the Alpha variant was kicking the **** out of us all, and I'm ****ed if I want it again, it wasn't very nice at all.

However, Mrs Steels is a bit wary now as she doesn't want a flare-up of her long Covid symptoms, bit similar to your Mrs, Bob.

We've had Covid passports for a few months now for getting into venues - it works well, but they certainly don't check everyone, and the last time we were out one of my sons pals was with us who has only had one jab and therefore doesn't have a passport told the staff that he was only 17 and they let him straight in, although I don't think that blag will work for most of you on here!

I respect everyone's views on the vaccine, it is your body and your life. (Mind you I do not respect the ones that say it is full of microchips and mind altering substances though...!) There is no doubt even after vaccination one, two, three or four you can get it, but everything is pointing to if you do get it ...it will be milder than not having the jab...but as Stan says with 100,000 cases a day, the 0.1% who do need to go to hospital, is actually a large number

Could I just say, Bomid, please get your sister in law to get that lump checked out...yes it probably was caused bu the vaccine, and I don't want to raise any alarms, but there may be a very very small chance that it is coincidental and could be something else. Better safe than sorry.

Do you mean the Moderna jab is more potent, or that the triple combination of 2 AZs and 1 Moderna is potent?
