Not sure if any of you follow MotoGP but Sideshow Bob was killed today. Helmet came off in a crash. Dont know about you's but I am absolutely gutted over this. Such a nice guy, him and Rossi were great friends. Early reports that his helmet came off and it was Rossi who drove into his head.

    I feel sick.

    ****ing hell.
That's horrible... RIP to the man, great sportsman.
Can't imagine what Rossi must be going through, surely you'd just want to retire.

I cant see Rossi recovering to well from this at all. Im so surprised he drove on but I think theres a rule that you have to. Rossi knew something was up when he drove on though, he looked devastated and thats even before finding out Super Sic had succumbed to his injuries.

First Wheldon now Simoncelli. A sad week for motorsport - I hope lessons can be learnt from these tragedies.

F1 is my second favorite sport after football, and it's easy to become complacent regarding the dangers of motor sport as F1 is so safe now. If I remember right, the last death was Senna. F1 drivers sometimes take big risks as they feel invincible inside their F1 safety cell, but maybe after these two tragedies it'll make people think a bit more.

Yeah Senna was the last death. Not a fan of F1 but I really do admire the safety they have brought to the sport after Senna's death. Unfortunately with motorcycles there is always going to be a risk. I dont want this to change the sport, i dont feel Simoncelli would have wanted his death to change the sport. An appropriate send off is in order for him. All the rivalries and bitchy arguements in Motogp are meaningless when something like this happens. I would like to see all riders united doing some sort of goodbye lap or something for him.

24 years old is too young for anyone. Last season Shoya Tomizawa was killed in Misano, he was only 19.

It was an absolutely savage crash like... certainly wouldn't want to see let alone witness anything like that again. Unfortunately this is the risk that's taken upon each driver of the sport when the gear up to race.

It was awful to watch but it wasn't Rossi that ran over him it was Edwards. Horrible day for motorsport, it was sad to see him lying on the track and it was then when I knew it was bad news.
