Bottom line depends upon how many miles pa you drive. Plenty web sites will tell you what kind of car you get for what sort of money you want to spend per month. Also bear in mind that a base model of a particular model isn't necessarily the cheapest as resale value may mean that second or third spec up is actually cheaper than the cheaper base model. I go contract hire as I put the car through my Business and I get a bit back on the VAT.
I can afford anything up to £600 a month easy. I like the Audi A6 and the one you mention my father in law and it’s class. My bro in law has the Quattro. So I think it’s even faster. I think I’m sold on the PCP. Thanks all for the input so far.
You seem to be rich. Your either s multi millionaire from the corporate world. A drug lord or you won the lottery.
I worked hard to get to where I am now and I want to enjoy some of the better things in life. I have always had crap small cars for good fuel consumption. But that’s mainly because I was a tight bastard. Noe I’m 40+ and more people I know around me are dying by the week I’m thinking life is to short.
alfa romeo gulia 2.0 turbo or for another £10k get the quadrifolio and just smile every time you drive it.
Not my cup of tea but Audi A6 Sport Standard Hybrid Black £540 pm. On Carwow Just a quick look so you possibly could do much better with a longer look. The car you want and within budget.
Yes I'm an Alfa head. I have a giulietta sprint at the mo. Great drive, really pokey. I had a GT before that for a number of years and loved that car. The new Alfa's despite their rep are very reliable and rank very highly, much better than the Germans. If I would ask my mechanic this question though he would tell me to buy a Kia. He reckons they are fantastically built and easy to work on.
Best car I've ever had would be the 330d BMW. 3 litre diesel. 40+ mpg and loads of power when its needed. Didn't go wrong in 8 years. 500 miles on a tank of fuel. Good luck.
Bit random but I've sat in the driving seat of night rider. I think there was 6 made for shooting so I've been in one anyway
SUV for me, but that’s my preference. Some amazing options out there, you could probably grab an XC60 from Volvo. Top end is the XC90 or the new Merc. Tesla are bringing out a Model Y this month. I couldn’t give two ****s about speed, I want absolute comfort and space.
I got a year old Skoda superb 2.0 tdi sport line on finance 2 years ago (had 16k on the clock)…costing me around £350 a month (car allowance from work covers it) and it’ll be paid off in 2-3 years time. Next motor for me I think will be a VW Arteon…they look ****ing mint but will give it a bit more thought nearer the time..I do like a big car like I have to admit. Was tempted with the PCP thing but this one come up and was too good to knock back.
I'm watching what happens with the Alfa Tonale. It's out next year apparently. Their first go at introducing electric to the range. It's a hybrid and imo for an SUV looks deadly.
I'll have you know despite my advanced years I still look like a film star when smoking a cigar. Have you seen Lassie having a sh!t.
Have a look at the Fully Charged Show (https://www.youtube.com/c/fullychargedshow/videos) who do electric reviews. You want to get electric now tbh. If you do purchase a diesel/hybrid you don't want to own it in few years because it will be worthless because everyone will be moving to EVs then. I think they call it PCH (ie just a hire payment then you give it back at the end). Got three cars on PCH from https://www.gateway2lease.com/ who were pretty good so you can see what's on there. Bought my Tesla Model 3 myself because I can finally afford to but it wasn't always that way.
