TEAM NEWS Speaking in his Thursday press conference, Jackson revealed no fresh injury concerns, though Adam Matthews (calf), Sam Lavelle (groin), Ryan Inniss (quad), Jake Forster-Caskey (ACL) and Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring) remain absent. Wes Hoolahan is expected to return for the visitors after not featuring on Tuesday night, while Shilow Tracey (ankle) will be assessed having been forced off in midweek. The U’s will, however, be without club captain Greg Taylor (ankle), Lloyd Jones (groin) and Liam O’Neil (calf). I’m taking my Dad to this one, so I’ll be sensible.
No Coronavirus among the squad (that we know of). A blessing. Be very careful please, everyone who is going to this one. Omicron is spreading like nothing seen before.
Some surprising names there. Neil Mccafferty, remember having high expectations of him, Karlan Grant, when was that? Nick Pope? Congratulations on compiling this list CAFC F&S.
We know some players seem to be precious about their names, which can look even more so when they are double-barrelled. I think I read somewhere that Grant might have dropped the 'Ahearne' because of a family dispute. I'm not sure about that. but if it's true we're all probably aware too that falling out with a section of your own family can be a painful business. Not having a dig at you Elfs, just offering a possible explanation as to why you always get a bite please log in to view this image I do appreciate you may actually know more about why he changed his name than I do! In which case I've been tempted into a nibble as well Please throw me back though, I'm only this big
I think he changed it after an allegation of rape when he was on holiday. The allegation didn't get to court, so he's innocent until proved guilty.
There's a train of thought that sometimes ir's easier to play the better teams than the awkward one at the wrong end of the table. The better teams will go out to create chances and win, leaving spaces we can exploit. The teams in danger are more likely to come hoping to see out 90 minutes without conceding. I reckon Cambridge will be the latter. So scoring first will be important. Fingers crossed the fans make some noise again.
Probably because we're now pretty good on the counter. It's been a long time since you could say that.
Sir JJ said on Charlton live that he worked first on our game out of possession. He seemed pleasantly surprised how good our football was in possession. Today could be tricky if we don’t get an early goal. I’m not sure how Cambridge play, but if they set up to defend we will have to be ruthless. In other news, my Dad missed the train so I’m stuck waiting for him It’s not all bad though
