In UEFA land, if two teams finish on equal pts, is it :

    1. first decided by GD
    2. then if the GD is equal, decided by the "head to head" results

On the assumption that UEFA deems the forfeit as a 0-3 loss,
trying to determine what kind of loss Vitesse would have to
suffer tonight in order for a forfeit to be possible ...

Brighton probably actually thanking their lucky stars in such a **** situation, as they’ve got about 8 or 9 injuries and I think they include all 3 of their first choice CBs.

While I understand their frustration at the situation and would be pissed if it was reversed, there’s a lot of humanity clearly lacking. Plenty of fans in the UK and elsewhere are perfectly willing to line up and take a shot while if it was their club or god forbid their family being hit like this with Covid, we’d hear a very different tune. This line from an article in the Graun today struck me.

“To repeat, Spurs have been ravaged by a frightening illness, turfed out of their place of work, racked by uncertainty and yet they continue to absorb potshots.”

Having had it, I wouldn’t wish Covid on anyone, but the idiots making signs like that or taking shots on Twitter make me really wonder.

Looks like Vitesse are putting us out on the field. 3-0 at half time and they are making our chances of progression very small if the second half is as productive. Probably a good thing with our backlog.

So any win against Rennes will put Spurs through? But draw or lose and they’re out?

I honestly couldn't give a f*ck what these classless cretins think , it's Twitter and most of them are well past their bed times
Look what's happened to Joshua Kimmich , out for months due to Covid complications, the club are doing the right thing protecting the players, staff and their family's COYS

Hopefully Rennes keep running their mouths and we get a 3-0 win by default

I assume away goals don't count in head to head. If so then yes, 1-0 sees us through.

    Yes.
Under last season's rules we would have been out.

Oh boy, wouldn't it be hilarious if Vitesse got put out by their friends in the UEFA "Maffia"?

I've been looking out of the window day dreaming while this has been going on , if this game is awarded 3-0 against us where does it leave us ?

Interesting precedent (which of course won't be a precedent when UEFA do something completely different in future). I wonder if they would have made this decision if it went against Barcelona for example? They are effectively saying that a global pandemic is no excuse for not playing. They are penalising us for getting Covid. As I say, lets see what happens if this situation arises more frequently, because if they rearrange other fixtures then I think we can be rightly pissed off. It's not a matter of whether you want to be in this cup or not, it's about the principle of the thing, and yet again UEFA show they don't have any.

They rearranged Villarreal/Atalanta the other night

Obviously the scenario was different, as the match was snowed off so they played it the following day, but it does show that UEFA can budge if they want to
