Is Redknapp in danger of crippling Spurs? They already have some big earners at the club such as Adebayor (loan), Defoe, Modric, Bale etc and one of the Sunday papers is reporting he wants Tevez on loan.

Spurs fans, I don't know the figures but what is your wage bill as a % of your turnover? It must be pretty high. Do you think this is very risky with no guarantee of CL football? You don't have the ground capacity of the likes of Man U, or the resources of Man City to have a massive wage bill.

I'm not saying that you'll be in a Portsmouth situation, but nevertheless it is a risky strategy. Of course this deal may not happen, but it does show Redknapp's thinking.

We can all relate to what may ultimately happen if you start shelling out massive wages for players (admittedly Spurs are after much better high earners than we ever were).

Should really have added Liverpool to this, chasing the dream, spending huge amounts, must have a massive wage bill and no guarantee of CL. And lots of average signings, at least Spurs go for quality.

You really should check out your facts before posting. Spurs run one of the tightest ships in the division. Daniel Levy sees to that with a wage cap and tight control of all financial matters. Adebayor's wages are part paid by City so it's not an issue. Redknapp has no dealings with the money side and transfers are conducted by Levy.

This is a non argument. <ok>

Thanks for the not to subtle patronisation Ensilwhatevertherestofyournameis.

You may not have the intellect to guess, but you'll see from my comments I'm not trying to get anyone ridiculed but relating to the fact that we've done similar in the past and only seeking others views on it. You can post articles about other clubs that aren't aimed at taking the piss. It's called discussion.

With regards to turnover and wages, I'd be amazed if that was our present situation - I presume that is from when we were in the Championship.

<laugh> Didn't realise that fans of football weren't allowed to share their thoughts on a topical issue. I grovel in front of your magnificence and beg for your forgiveness. But please don't turn around as I may be blinded by the sun shining out of your backside.

Even if you only pay 50% of Adebayors wages it is still about £90k per week.

Unlike the Geordie dreamers, we don't spend more than we can afford. Tevez would receive what we can afford to pay him. The chairman runs the club, the manager runs the team. The story mentions a loan deal anyway, not us buying him.

I know; Those flash cockneys annoy you OP, but you really need to do better than this half-arsed drivel.

Those stats are from our Championship season, and you were in the Champions League.

You sure aren't going to be in the Champions League next season and we aren't going to be in the Championship so they aren't really relevant

  12. What these Toon burks don't seem to understand is that:-

    (a) the very last thing any sensible fan would attempt to wum us about is our wage structure, which is recognisably one of the most restrictive and controlled in the EPL; and

    (b) we have been wummed a thousand times with the pathetic "Harry will ruin you" jibes.

Please understand this Toon wums, we will show absolutely no mercy to any idiot who comes onto our board to spout these pathetic insults. Many others, far better than you, have tried it before you, and they were sent away with their tails between their legs. Please, save your breath, and go and abuse a Sunderland fan <ok>

I should say I agree by the way that you aren't in any financial trouble whatsoever, infact a pretty damn good position.

Sunderland are the ones who need to be worrying, poor attendances, wage bill increasing every year, Bruce spening money on ****e players

These are 2009-10 figures when we were in the championship. You can see that by our Severely reduced turnover (especially in broadcasting revenue)

Comment on turnover is that it was down from £101m the year before.

Turnover should be back up to circa this amount and we've got rid of a few high earners (-albeit brought in more players than have left) so wages prob aren't too different to then

If I were you Why aye Cabaye I would call it a day. You can see clearly now that your argument is based on total bullshit and as I said before is a non argument.

Get yourself a cup of tea and go back to bed, oh and change your newspaper. <ok>

Slightly harsh reaction from my fellow Spurs fans, in my opinion, but the whole "Redknapp's going to ruin you!" thing is pretty tired.
Our wage bill is pretty small when you compare it to our competitors, as has already been pointed out and we actually made £19m on transfers this summer.

Daniel Levy definitely puts finances first at Spurs and it seems to be working very well for us at the moment.
