I'm not going to suggest that the reason this Downing Street briefing is happening right now is so the evening bulletins don't have time to show De Pfeffel getting eviscerated at PMQs or Allegra Stratton being almost as unconvincing as Matt Hancock when pretending to cry No, I'm not going to suggest it - I'm saying that's exactly the reason why it's happening
Johnson: 'I take full responsibility for everything this Government has done' Yeah right... He has only 'taken responsibility' for the Vaccine rollout that he had no direct control over. Everything else he has managed to find a sacrificial lamb to take responsibility for his actions. The Charlatan has never taken responsibility for anything in his life and the fact that there are still idiots out there supporting him says everything you need to know as to why the UK is such a basket case.
Most people were only aware of Allegra Stratton at 9.00 PM yesterday and she's gone by 4.00pm today , what is she, a Watford manager ?
I think that is a distinct possibility - at least one of the parties. Although, equally that response was just doubling down on their first ridiculous politically-driven statement. Perhaps Plod thought that to change tack now would make them look even more useless and stupid than they already do?
Sorry for her? Arrogant ****wit only cried cos she was caught and it has cost her a well paid job...****ing cretin
There's a noticeable attempt from certain members of the media set to try and generate sympathy for Stratton Of course this doesn't look like trying to protect one of their former colleagues...
There on no way this weren't known about by influential journalists imho. And instead of doing their jobs they hid it and used it to get jobs or other stories. As corrupt as the politicians while happily slagging off those on benefits.
This is an interesting listen. Ros Atkins has been one of the exceptions with his succinct, accurate 5 mins summaries and this R4 discussion with the journos behind the Party story gives some background. It is inconceivable that lobby journos didn't know about the Party at the time - in fact most were probably invited / present. They said nothing. Therefore, it is another example of the corruption at the heart of this Gov that it took investigative journos to reveal the story.
Probably because Tim Davie is rumoured to have been there Yes, that would be the Director General of the BBC...
OK, with a bit of research, this year there have been more deaths on the pitch than any other year, but there is not much in it. 14 so far this year and there have been a 13 (2016) and a 12 (2015 and 210) historically. The average is 8.6. Last year was only 3 so this year could be levelling up the average. However, Pilot data is damming. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FGHv166WUAEsHiq?format=jpg&name=900x900 2019 = 1 2020 = 6 2021 = 111
What investigating would they have to do? "PC A and PC B, you were on duty at Downing St at the time in question. Was there a party?" It's hardly CSI Westminster, is it?
