Booing pissed me off on Sat. Hard fought draw against a decent side and we were easily the better side in the 2nd half.

Midweek games this time of the year always seem to feel like a bit of a slog, wouldn’t be surprised if there are less that 25k to be honest. People are skint too of course.

I’m in the east stand and the away fans always seem louder than they should be due to the concourse acting like a massive megaphone which doesn’t help the atmosphere on lower crowds.

Just thought, I need to nip out for some Bovril ready for tomorrow night too :emoticon-0100-smile

Need to win really but also I think we need to win well.
Everyone needs a bit of a boost at the moment especially with Plymouth coming up on Saturday
Win well on Tuesday and a win on Saturday and things will start to look a lot more rosy.

Can't see us abandoning the 3 at the back any time soon.

I think a lack of options will see us unchanged injured allowing

    --------‐---------Hoffman----------------
    --------Wright---Flanagan----Doyle---
    Gooch--Winchester--Neil-----Dajaku
    --------------------Pritchard-------------------
    ---------------Stewart---Broadhead------

Wasn't impressed with Broadhead on Saturday but Morecambe could be as wide open as Cheltenham looking at the number of goals they concede. Embleton looked lively and like he had a point to prove when he came on and if Broadhead isn't performing I can see us changing the system and bringing him off for Embleton.

3 points a must with the top 2 playing teams near the bottom. No excuses here. Fail to win and that should be the final straw for Johnson.

My prediction though is well limp to an unconvincing win and the can will be kicked down the road to Saturday

great thread RTB as usual thank you, as for the football hope for the win as always, but my confidence is ebbing fast, still in the top end but the teams we have been losing and drawing against is a worry if we want a promotion push, school report on LJ so far can do better, must pay more attention and plan ahead better

After the 2nd half improvement on Sat I hope he sticks with 4 at the back. We looked miles better. It's not ideal but I'd go:

    Hoffmann
    Wright Flanagan Doyle Gooch
    Winchester Neil
    Broadhead Embleton Pritchard
    Stewart
Subs: Patterson, Dajaku, Anyone else who's fit

Gooch as a orthodox full back in a back 4 scares the life out of me. Just look at Oxfords goal. The less he's having to be in those deep positions the better for me

    <applause> RTB

    Gone for a home win.

As you have posted probably a similar side.

Personally not sure about Gooch or Dajaku but i suppose we are stuck with them.

Will we keep a clean sheet... we are not good at them great if we could, cos we are not scoring prolifically.

How long is 09 out for?

I liked his picks and formation, except for Gooch as well as you. His running is good but defence positioning is poor , and the goal that was scored was due to stupid diving, when he had enough opportunities to get rid,but that's still down to LJ with square pegs,a more defence minded player like Younger would have been my choice but hey ho not all will agree with me either

Thought he did well 2nd half. 1st half, half of them didn't have a clue where they were supposed to be playing such was Johnson's crazy formation

That's a pretty sound summary tbh.

Broadhead is at a point in his career when he should be doing the basics better, he's indecisive when he gets close to goal.

Embleton was a real threat when he came on, but often struggles when he starts.

Stewart needs someone with experience to help him.

Great thread RTB. We have to find the goalscoring touch again. I worry about our striker form currently. I really hope Stewart gets back in the goals, we need him too. If we could sign just one player in January it would be a centre forward. The second half on Saturday was good enough to produce a couple of goals. With our full back situation you do feel a clean sheet is a big ask so we will need more than 1 goal each game. It is a shame Harris is injured because I would be finding a place for him.

Tottenham Hotspur v Morecambe in the FA Cup is a good draw for us ...

... none of their players will be risking injuries tomorrow.

We'd all like to believe players don't think that way but the Spurs stadium is quite a draw for Morecambe players.
