One of the advantages of living in Australia is that I get to celebrate crimbo earlier than my family and friends back in the mother country. Another advantage is that this year at least it’s been glorious weather. Averaging high 30s the last couple of days. So got back from work, fired up the bbq and relaxed with a couple of beers simply enjoying life with Mrs EJK and Master EJK (who’s home on leave from the Navy).
Apart from all of us celebrating the takeover and imagining a bright future for our great club, it’s been magical just enjoying Christmas as a family.
Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum and that includes everyone I’ve had disagreements with. It’s just the internet and we shouldn’t take it seriously.

Something we’ve struggled with only recently, used to always have that position covered

    Christmas 606.jpg

It's that time of year again and the big questions are being asked ...

... how much have Tees kids grown, is Snaggey in the loft and has Sunderpitt been to Leamside yet.

It's been another weird year, and I'm sure we've all been affected in one way or another, but there's something special for us all at Christmas. It doesn't matter if we believe in the Nativity or not, we can all believe in rebirth and the pleasure of being part of a feeling of joy.

I know we've lost a few friends on here, since this thread was first posted, and we'll spare a thought for them as well as those of us going through a rough time with illness, work, relationships or whatever.

For some of us the Nativity is the reason to be joyful, for some it's a bloody good excuse to allow ourselves the cause to be soppy and generous to others. Whatever it is I always find there's something special about this time of year and a little magic in the air.

So post your pictures, enjoy it however you choose and best wishes from all the Smugs ...

... God bless us all, every one

Loved this thread last year, and so pleased @Smug in Boots has brought it back again this year.
I've re-read the thread again from the beginning, and loved seeing everyone's trees and dogs, and just enjoyed the "feel-good" nature of the thread.
My tree is still in the loft, (still decorated, but I've refined the "cover"....it's now wrapped in clingfilm rather than bin bags) and will need to stay there for at least another week or so. We are getting new flooring put down in the living room, dining room and kitchen. I've took up about 55sqm of laminate, and spent this weekend struggling to get 16sqm of lino up, that has been fully stuck down. The whole lot needs screeding, so need to get all the furniture out....so the tree will have to wait a bit.
I will put some pics up once the tree is up (or down?), but at the minute, Christmassy it is not!!

Just be careful with the lino mate. Depending on how old it is it could contain asbestos. 70's and earlier be cautious

The kitchen is in an extension, and from what I can gather was built around 2010. It was only when I've lifted the knackered laminate that we realised the lino was there. The whole bloody lot has been glued as well....been a nightmare trying to get it up!!
