Everton fans have hated him for 15 years haha

Apparently they're having an emergency board meeting on Friday, so Rafa could be gone this weekend.

I’d take Rafa as DofF. He would do a great job rebuilding.. leaving Eddie Howe to coach.

Maybe the delay in us appointing a DofF is linked to Rafa’s situation.

I wouldn't take Rafa as a tea boy let alone put him in charge of player recruitment.

I can't think of anyone worse to provide Eddie with the players to fulfill his attacking style.

I wonder will he still be in charge when we play Everton on the 30th?

I think the owners have thrown their weight behind him now. Obviously if they just keep losing, they can't stick with him indefinitely, but I think the departure of Brands show that the owners don't want to say they've got it wrong again. I can't believe the excuses being made for him but I do think they should give him time. Simply because as owners they knew what they were getting into stylistically. They are only a couple of results from getting back up the table really.

I hope he is still there though  You'd fancy he'd give us more chance because he's not bothered about having the ball. We look much better when allowed possession.

It could be that Rafa gets more support from our fans than their own if he survives that long.

He will get a welcome reception and the Everton fans will hate that.

It seems like you'll all have to consider that bruce was never the issue. It would appear to be the players that were the problem, so I'm just wondering what your thoughts on this are currently? Bruce was getting the best out of max.

More than half the first team were his players. Players he had some input in recruiting. I will admit Joelinton wasn't. However Wilson, ASM, Lewis, Kraft, Fraser, Hendrick, Willock all were. These had to have his seal of approval. Now if his grand master plan was to be more attacking and more front footed but this had always been hampered by needing 3 CB's - Why not buy Centre Backs to play and fit the system he wanted to implement? Why constantly have digs at the previous manager for not being able to play the way he wanted?

Bruce was merely defending himself in my opinion and I came to the conclusion that no matter what he did or said it would never be good enough and he'd get ridiculed.

Even if we won it was happening <laugh>

I think Bruce was the issue this season because he didn’t win a single game.

I think Howe hasn’t found the right team and formation and seems to favour a formation 4-4-2 which doesn’t work in modern football. Which is worrying.

So for me. Bruce failed this season.

Howe hasn’t found the right balance but so far isn’t doing that much better.
