I'm a Southampton fan, get me outta here.

    Frustrating and sadly predictable.

We are not a bad team, just bad at times. It's fixable and there is time to fix it

With Alex and Fraz looking likely to miss the Arsenal match, do we still have Tommy Forecast in a vault somewhere awaiting his debut?:bandit:

16 points from 15 games, a healthy position at this stage. No way in any world does a manager get sacked from a club with no immediate investment prospects in a position like that. I am as angry and frustrated as any of you but you have to be realistic.

Sorry if this disappoints some of you, but as I have said many times, at the moment Saints could not attract a better manager than Ralph.

Very strange player PR there. 28,000 knew he had a problem, bar 1. McC must be well & truly pissed off he’s being made scapegoat by mgr. still let’s use our soon to be off, “you ain’t playing” #2 … ok, #3 then. What a ****ing ****e show from mgr & team. 71 pts btw - of course in balance we should offer the pts gained over same period - maybe it’s similar <laugh>

I'm all for it if it means we sign a new keeper in January.

Yeah if it is another notch in the “our next goalkeeper signing needs to be a number 1 with Alex moving to backup” column then fair enough

And of course if it results in brining said transfer forward

there was every chance that Forster would be replaced by a new backup - say one of the three Newcastle keepers. If the deemed lack of professionalism is such a vital position on the pitch changes that then that is a good thing

I reckon Dean Henderson would be available on a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season. He'd be my first choice.

I think he would. It's well known he wants first team football.

Didn’t we bin Adkins & pick a “no hoper” from a tiny Spanish side a few years ago, in a similar situ? Don’t believe there’s not better options out there. Don’t think Ralph has done himself any favours today with his post match pressers & is definitely gonna get a ****e load of stick. Ps. Maupay IMO was borderline getting booked for his celebration & hes achieved “****” status for me.

If Newcastle want him, they most likely get him. But otherwise, I'd give us a really good chance. Because looking up and down the PL, who else would in the market for a new keeper in January? Watford possibly. Brentford maybe, but only on a short term basis until Raya is back.

Spot on. That's how I feel. Ralph is a nice man I imagine the players train well but they aren't being instilled with a winning mentality or indeed a "must not lose mentality". Second half of most games we lose energy and resolve. JPW has served us well at times but I don't think he is an inspirational leader. Redders is similar, good on his day but no real cutting edge in wanting to get in the box and ram the ball into the back of the net. No striker to consistently bury the ball. Think we'll do well to stay out of the relegation places because come March if we are in the bottom three I don't think there is the nuance or spirit to get out of it.

His wages would be a problem. In Jan and the summer. And United have a track record of wanting bonkers loan fees

That’s wasn’t really my point but ok, so we stick. I’m just in shock at the press statements. Over to you Ralph; now you’re really gonna earn your corn.

So is the new explanation behind the bizarre injury time meltdown that the team on the pitch knew McCarthy was injured and spent the last 5-10 mins just trying to get the ball as far away from shooting range as possible, because any shot in target = goal?

If so it’s not just on McCarthy that’s a complete failure from the whole lot not to notify Ralph.

That said I don’t see how a competent manager and coaching staff do not notice something like that playing out in front of them either, McCarthy even had an outfield player take a goal kick for him, which is the universal goalkeeper language for ‘I’m wrecked boss’. Even though I like Ralph.
