You can only pick 5 to get rid of in January to free up space, rip up their contract, loan them out, sell them, whatever but they have to go! In order of 1st (out the door) - 5th. 1 Ciaran Clark - Championship defender only getting worse with each passing game 2 Mark Gillespie - Not needed, can't get in ahead of Woodman or Darlow 3 Jeff Hendrick - Bring back Mongstaff, improve the IQ in the squad 4 Matt Ritchie - Save the corner flags, although not sure his legs could carry him round all 4 next season 5 Emil Krafth - No one knows what he is - RCB or RB or RWB or footballer?
1- Hendrick. Terrible purchase. 2- Longstaff. Terrible midfielder. 3- Gayle. So we can get a better striker in. 4- Clark. He’s been ok till this season but he’s been terrible this season and last night is inexcusable. 5- Gillespie. Why sign him in the first place?
I think Ritchie deserves more a chance. If everyone else is getting a clean slate under a new manager, our hardest worker also deserves one. It's ****ed up to judge him while he's been asked to play out of position as a wing back when he is not. He can be kept as a squad player, and earn a chance to play LM when others are injured, as he is basically the newest version of gutierrez. A work horse on the wing.
So what the **** is he then? He sure as **** ain't a winger !! Wingers are fast....he's not. Wingers can cross....he cannot ! He is of no use to us.....get rid ! Don't get me wrong, I love the bloke and his passion and I can imagine he's a ****ing hoot in the dressing room....but smiles and giggles aren't gonna get us outta this **** !!
Well, he can cross a ball into the box. His deliveries are good. Just he's not got great pace, and I specifically stated he could play when others are injured, so basically a squad player, But my main point is that he should get the same chance and clean slate that others will get under eddie. He works hard, his dead ball deliveries are easily the best in our team, and his crosses are good. He cannot be a defender on his own, but he is decent at supporting defenders.
I get where you are coming from but in the long term he's 32 now and not going to get any better. Mine are mainly older players who have very limited time left - with us or anyone else in the league.
I'd agree but it's a strange one - he's to good for our level at present, he's the type of player Man City, Liverpool etc would have as a cup player, a luxury player but certainly not one for a relegation scrap. He shouldn't be starting for us IMO, he's great on the ball but apart from that (and generally a single player will have the ball 2-3% of a game so what is he doing the other 97/98% of the time) he offers very little to the team. I'd much rather Miggy to get through defensive work for 60-70 mins and then throw ASM on to run at tired opposition.
Gayle. Clark. Hayden. Hendrick. Ritchie, Gillespie, Longstaff, Almiron, Lascelles, Shelvey, Darlow, Fraser. I don’t care which five, not one of these feckers is a PL player.
Why stop at five? There are only two or three players who are currently good enough to play in a team with top 8 aspirations (which is where we should be aiming next season if we miraculously escape relegation this) ASM and Wilson and possibly Dubravka.
With Almiron, unlike Ritchie, he's young and he is dynamite at international level and other levels. He deserves a shot in a proper team, but so far he's shown me he cannot handle himself confidently in the final third in the PL.
Agreed I'd use him in a midfield three and have him carry us forwards from the defensive third to the final third, then attack the box for crosses and he'll have 2/3 bounce in off his shin a season. Lewis, Him and ASM down the left of the pitch would be rapid!
Interesting only one other has selected Krafth? Opinions changing on him much or his he just not as **** as the rest of the ****ters?
I think maybe we've selected someone who plays a lot in Krafth. Thus regularly reveals himself to be ****e. Then we've all selected your Hendricks, Gayles etc. Known **** but not really in danger of playing much. So they seem like easy fodder.
