no mate had to flush it three times then beat it into submission with the bog brush before it gave in an went happy new year
I've just seen this I backed the winner in that race. 5f was always going to be too sharp for the mackem torpedo.
The Mackem Torpedo is running tonight and everything looks to be in his favour for a big run. He's running over 6f (5f was to sharp), his best performances usually come late in the year. It is his second run back after a wind op which statistically is the best time to catch them. He's running off a rating of just 51 which is the lowest he's been in a long time. He's been massively out of form. His price of 25/1 is probably about right BUT if he's going to run another big race at any point, tonight looks like it could be the one.
A guy in our local told us lot (way back in August) that the Mackem Torpedo would show returns in Decamber... Take from that what you choose to guys.. There is another horse called The Mackem Missile I believe he also said.
It's a good job they don't care about anything linked with Sunderland, could you imagine what they would do if they did?
The Mackem Missile should be filed in the 'Donkey' section. That won't win a race and will probably be retired soon. It started out handicapping on a mark in the 60's and now that's been reduced to bottom score of 45 which it ran off last time and came 12th of 12 horses running. They should do the decent thing and find a nice big field for it to spend the rest of its days. It's no racehorse.
