Ok he’s **** and has zero qualities that make him a professional football and klopp and all the coaching staff are blinded by it for some reason.
no, when theres space and an opponent is going to walk the ball out I'm sure he looks awesome. when a midfielder like him (or several others) get ahead of the ball and are marked out of the game they become anonymous. When we have the ball look where he puts himself as a starting position, its quite high up and easily marked. If you've time to press up on players who hold the ball then player like ox and keita and others love it in our system. when someone launches it 60 yards over their head the press is gone. its then a question of getting back and th other players coping. In general our problem with deep lying teams to pack the middle is we fall into the trap of getting ahead of the ball and compressing the play into too narrow a shape. Trent is just as guilty of that. The only passer we have is thiago really.
It's a small sample bit the last few games ox has been fantastic. He's covered the ground like Henderson used to be able to, good movement upfront, but if we lose the ball he's pitting the effort in to get back. But like I say its a small sample of games and he will be over shadowed by thiago and maybe fab, but it took us years to realise what Henderson brought to the team, I wonder if ox eill be the same. On the other hand, he will probably get injured next week smd be out for another few months, so not really worth being to bothered about.
The last 3 have been very much ideal for a guy who likes to run in space. The west ham game not so.much. I personally think theres a point where we see a lot of our.midfielders get ahead of the ball when theres a massed defense in front of them. I think we need to really think about how we approach those types of scenarios and not just ox or keita or whoever. Imo its horses for courses with what we have. Keita is an interception machine. If a side is likely to be back to play or just slipping little balls into feet he can eat them up. Ox likes a run with the ball and space to so that. Henderson likes a bit of wing play with trent and hoofing it across. It's hard to know which is best but thiago and fabinho are a must imo.
I don't see any fight between thiago and kieta ever personally. I see a fight between 3 or 4 like Elliott, keita, Henderson in that right slot. The left slot is not so easy, milner should be out to Pasture next year.
Well that's probably fair outside europe. We need a lot of running in there and those two are not that.
We don't pass into the strength of teams. We play round the sides where space is. If you look at it is old school terms it's called penetrative as the same peice shows the type of ball the forwards score off and alot are from wide into 6 yard box. Finally look at Jota heat map. He is the only one who gets into the zone of most danger to finish these
given evertons current plight I have to consider them a bottom half team now and move wolves up to top half Games played 8 Goals scored 27 Goal conceded 4 Games won 7 Games drawn 1 Games lost 0 Win ratio 88% Draw ratio 12% Loss ratio 0% Goals per game 3.375 Goals conceded per game 0.5 Thats scary for any of the lower half teams.
Chelsea's form this season is quite interesting as they're massively outperforming their defensive metrics, mostly because Mendy is saving everything - remains to be seen if it's sustainable or not ... IMO, Man City have the best defence in the league. please log in to view this image
Our passing network vs Soton, and this one is a beaut. You can see that we're utilising both flanks really well - Robbo, Thiago and Mane linking very well, and then you have Trent, Hendo and Salah. please log in to view this image
All his goals have been on target as well Seems to have had a few off target from not too far out as well though.
