Really difficult to pick 3 out. Just to comment, how good have SM and RL been recently. Wilks was dreadful. Totally unfair and incorrect to somehow lump Magennis and Wilks together. Magennis worked his rocks off for the cause, made a goal line clearance, gave near continuous support, guidance, organisation to others, whereas Wilks did literally nothing, struggling to even break into a jog most of the time. Great team effort (bar Wilks).
,Like Brum last week and Cardiff on Wednesday it is very difficult to pick a top three when it was such a good team performance, bar Wilkes. but.. 1. Smallwood. Someone mentioned he was Ashbee like today, praise indeed, but he was. Great performance by him considering he picked up an early yellow card. 2. Docherty 3. Honeyman. One of the best battling team performances in horrible conditions against a decent team that I have witnessed for a long time.
Honeyman McLoughlin Docherty McLoughlin looks a really classy defender. He impressed me today - very good. Smallwood would be a good footballer if he could pass to a team mate.
KLP is becoming a bit more of an all rounder. Honeyman is the key to everything. McCloughlin is very steady. Sean, not Martin. MOM = Honeyman 2nd = everyone else except Wilks.
Docherty - ridiculous energy levels. When he dribbles the length of the pitch and still doesn't run out of steam, incredible. Honeyman - always in the right place whether it's in the box for a goal or just picking things up in the middle. So good tactically. Greaves - so good recently. Defending but also on the ball. When he's on the left of the three he overlaps like a full back, as he did for the goal, and never gets caught out being too high up. Brilliant. Smallwood was very good too. Proper captain's performance. If he was just a bit neater on the ball he'd be a top player.
Wilks is the second or third cousin of George Weah. When I played in Division 17 of the Sunday League, we had substitutes that were better than Wilks.
I noticed that. He made it clear when he gave advantage that he'd clocked him. Seems as though he was distracted by us scoring!
For me, Doc and then any of eight others for second successive game. Sorry, I dont see what Magennis offers. For his size, he should win more in the air, is often slow to get in the box and then often caught offside. It was a good goal line clearance, but that's not what we pay him for. Wilks is infuriating. He does look overweight. I expect Elder to take his place for the next game (move KLP up front)
