Few weeks ago McCann was very much McCannt in as much as he refused to acknowledge a change in system/ formation would suit us, its a formation forced upon us by the loss of players and as such has proven as we all expected and believed to be more suitable for what we have. I don't buy this 'he's been freed of the Ehab shackles' bullsh1t for one second, he was just too stubborn to accept it wasn't working his way.
Battling performance against a big physical Millwall team in terrible conditions...high winds and sleet. The team is showing impressive togetherness and determination which should take us further up the table in the coming months. The return of Honeyman has made a huge difference, Longman is proving to be an excellent acquisition, and our 3-5-2 formation has transformed the team. However Wilks looks like a square peg in a round hole and should be benched, with Longman replacing him up front and Elder moving up to left wing half and McLaughlin at LB or CH. Have McCann and his coaching staff earned a reprieve based on the recent performances ? That'll be up to the new owners to decide. But he's certainly helped his cause in recent weeks.
The problem the new owner will have now, is if he’s already put things in place to get someone in, then he’ll have a decision to make. If McCann does go, it’d be tough but then you could say it was justified based on results until recently, if he stays, then it’s because of recent form, but he’ll probably be on very thin ice if that’s the case.
The club have confirmed exclusivity, he's been on TV saying the deal is done, we're waiting on the FA and Averladze has confirmed he's taking English exams on twitter. What makes you think it's not happening?
This run is all the more remarkable for the fact that I think everyone thinks we have been carrying Malik Wilks for weeks, except the manager, who really seems to apply different standards to him to every other player in the squad. I really just don't get it.
How long does it normally take? How do you know they haven't ok'd it and it's just in the final legal / exchange stages?
