Difficult to select anyone from that list. I think we now n eed to develop the mindset that we can give anyone a game at CCS. Only one loss in 19 there and a squad that's progressing with every game. Injuries and suspensions may be an issue but not insurmountable.
It's all we could ask for really. Nobody expected is to finish above Belgium from the outset and I think that the boys have done brilliantly. Home for the play off semi and hopefully we'll draw Austria or North Macedonia. However, pending a surprise in our other 'path' semi then our final is going to be very challenging. Back to tonight. What a great pressing game we played - especially in the second half. That level of intensity is going to be needed for the next 2 games though. Hopefully will have Bale fit and a full squad (except Morrell) to choose from. I feel really sorry for Joe but we've got to be reasonably happy that it's only him who's suspended for the semi.
Just got home. Great night with an excellent team display as mentioned above. Standouts: - Daniel James - put the sh1ts up them every time he ran at them. Great pressing work as well. Neco Williams - hardly put a foot wrong and terrific energy attacking in second half. If that shot had been a foot higher the keeper wouldn't have reached it. Whatever Neco's on, can I have some? Aaron Ramsey - covered every blade of grass, a real captain's job. Everyone did their job to the fullest extent. No criticism of anyone. Belgium were a very good side, without 5 of their first choices. They attacked as a unit with frequently 5 or 6 players across the front line. In saying all that, they were not that good defensively. They had at least 3 chances to clear the ball before Moore scored and were threatened by Dan James the whole game. Roll on whoever in the play off. If I had to avoid anyone it would be Poland and goal machine Lewandowski.
Wouldn't fancy facing Poland or Turkey (who appear to be on the up at the moment). Can't say any of them are going to be particularly straight forward... Maybe it's just fear based on historical events but even Macedonia worry me as we don't have a great record in play off type games We do now have a pretty formidable record at the CCS though....
Hmmm, looks like we may have a noteworthy member of the Twitterati amongst us.... Is this our very own???? "Ninian Opinion wrote on Twitter: "Phenomenal that from Wales. The pressing, the work rate, the will you stick at it. Absolutely fantastic all of them but Neco Williams and the big man up front were exceptional. A proud man."" https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
Not me - not an uncommon handle I suppose; taken from the article in the City programmes in the 70’s. Oh and I agree with him totally
I reckon nin is throwing up a smokescreen because he doesn't want to get caught up in the world of celebrity. Or he's playing it cool before he goes into the jungle or features on Strictly.
Tough draw I've just come to say you and the Scots must be over the moon with that draw. You have missed all the good teams and should really be playing each other in the final.
Then if we get through we have the winner of Scotland v Ukraine. Good news though is we'd be the home team for the final if so....
This is Wales mate... We take nothing for granted. Think I'd rather we had North Macedonia TBH and would have preferred to avoid the Jocks. They have a history of dodgy wins against us.
I think Wales should be happy with draw. Two potential home games and avoiding Italy and Portugal, one of which will not be going to Qatar.
If and it’s a big if Wales get the jocks in the final surely we’re due a win over them after being robbed in 1977 and 1985
