When I worked there when it was Thompson Plastics there was two large factories. The factory I worked in was for caravan parts and the other was car parts. That was twenty years ago and probably changed now.
Didn't they make the shower trays for Swift caravans ? The CEO of Advanced Plastics on Sutton Ind. Estate must be on the phone as I type this. Opportunity knocks.
I know someone who worked there then Didn’t you all get ripped off with your pensions.? Right near xmas and a load of people are without a job and with mortgages to pay and presents to buy. It’s very sad
ade redundan I got made redundant Chazz and we had three interviews to change their minds and save your job. I'd had two before going to see family in the States i'd booked the year before. My last interview was the following Monday on my return. I knew it was pointless, once you'd been picked you was gone. If you didn't meet your interviews day you lost your redundancy money so I had to come home from the States. My cousin offered me a job over there but couldn't take it. It turned out we had to claim our money from the Government which we got in three payments over a year. Think the pension thing happened after i'd left.
Such a shame I’ve eaten & stayed there many times https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-59414420
Well, that’s Leeds fans banned from the KCOM. If plastics are that flammable, they shouldn’t be allowed in.
Never mind, there's always the Black Swan at Oldstead, just down the road. What is it about N. Yorkshire and Michelin-starred chefs?
Reminds me of trying to book one of those posh places in Padstow last year. Phone system said I was no.90-odd in the queue! We went somewhere else.
It was when they were on Tower Road, I think it’s called that, opposite old Hedon Road, but Trevor probably moved to Hessle as he was one of their managers, and all round nice fella.
The only place on Hedon Rd i've worked is Armstrong's behind Oriental pub, I only ever worked for Thompson's at the Hessle factory.
