Before I start this let me say I really dont give a toss what happens with Roberts now, because its Bielsa who counts not me or anyone else. I think we are now on 98 or 99 games now for Leeds, so around 100 games, and I can count a Handfull of good games. Hes scored 5 goals in 3 seasons and he passes himself off as a striker. He scored only one goal last season and although he hasnt scored this season he has hit the woodwork and contributed one assist. He has played in all 12 league games so far this season but has played less minutes than Firpo, Ayling or even Bamford. He seems to be a sub Bielsa turns to but is now falling down the pecking order as Gelhardt moves ahead of him. As more players come back from injury Roberts will find it tougher to get any minutes because would you use him ahead of Dallas, Klich or even Rodrigo in the middle or would you bring him on aheadof Rodrigo, Gelhardt or Bamford up front. Our bench will be swelling ghis weekend and only have Ayling, Koch and Bamford to come back and they are all back in training, so what next for Tyler. I have no idea what happens next for Tyler Roberts but lets face facts he has made little impression again this season, just like last, even when we are struggling for players Roberts doesnt start and is down the pecking order. Will Bielsa carry on or will he lose his patience and move him on as he has done with many young players who have not taken their chance when given it. He cannot play defence We have 4 wingers who all get on before him We even have Forshaw back, plus Dallas, Klich, Rodrigo in the middle plus Greenwood He doesn't displace Rodrigo, Gelhardt or Bamford up front. Do we keep him or sell/loan him out
We have to loan him out, but need a replacement for him first. There's the problem. We're not going to find a suitable replacement during the January transfer window, and our squad is too small to let him go. What he does on the pitch is fine, but he hasn't got it in him to influence a game.
When we have everyone back Roberts doesnt get on the pitch before Klichnor Dallas or Rodrigo and we will have Klich or Dallas starting with one on the bench, so not sure what you mean mate. Yes we are a an AM short still but thats not Roberts in the middle or up front, so even Swift would be a mile better as an option?
He should never have got a new contract. League one player at best who has hung on the shirt tails of bielsas squad.
We loaned out poveda and thas worked out well did it not. He is back injured and should have sold him.
I was happy to give him this season to show if he can progress but in his appearances thus far he seems to have gone backwards. Newcastle were showing a bit of interest pre season. I'd make him available in January for a sale or a loan/sale agreement pending the injury situation. Swap him for Swift at Reading.
As usual Marcelo is the perfect diplomat, what he says and what he thinks could be two different things. Let’s be honest if you want to sell something you don’t tell everyone that what you are selling is crap.
Thought we agreed a couple of weeks ago to get off the lads back and come back to this discussion later in the season ?
You may well be right mate, but unless we have 2 players who play the same position out injured at the same time he still doesnt get in the team. Who does he start in front of? Nobody in goal or defence and we have 4 wingers so please tell me me who he replaces in the middle or up front? Unless you think we are going to have Klich, Dallas, Rodrigo, Gehardt all out at the same time
Tyler is no Messi, but he is a better footballer than me. We have a relatively small squad and so until we can replace him with somebody closer to the skill set of Messi then I would keep him, that same comment goes for every other player we have. Besides who is going to be the next player singled out for derision if Tyler leaves? Opportunities for him are running out though. Personally I think Klich is having a poor season, Dallas is covering for Ayling, Rodrigo is improving and I see Roberts as cover for him and Gelhardt is covering for Bamford.
