    Man Utd make first approach for Mauricio Pochettino after PSG chief's emergency meeting.

    But their initial attempt to hire the Argentine has been rejected by PSG.

    There is no release clause in Pochettino's contract but it is expected Manchester United will have to pay PSG a £10m compensation fee.

    United's initial plans involved putting Michael Carrick in temporary charge while they looked for an interim boss to see out the remainder of this season.

    The Red Devils then intended to target Pochettino in the summer and attempt to negotiate him out of his PSG contract.

    But Pochettino is believed to be open to a move to Man United mid-season as he is unhappy in the French capital, where he continues to live in a hotel while his family reside in London.

    According to L'Equipe, Leonardo met Pochettino and spoke with him in a bid to determine whether the manager wants to leave PSG for United.

    This kind of news could break Sucky. But I expect him to put a brave face on things <whistle>
