... pub, transport, etc. This will be the third league game in a week by the end of which we'll know if we're back on track. I like going to Cambridge, we used to take good numbers on that terrace behind the goal although you could see bugger all tbh. Dunno how it is these days but the capacity is around 8000 so it hasn't improved much, I have a few spares if anyone needs them. I'll be down early to have a look round the town which I've never done before This is the pub Wakey has arranged for us to meet up but anyone's welcome. please log in to view this image https://www.google.com/maps/place/The Cambridge Brew House, 1 King St, Cambridge CB1 1LH/@52.2074402,0.122225,16z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47d87095dea44731:0x6e04acaa56021a0e?hl=en-gb On No 3 bus route from station. Great news @Smug in Boots . Driving down for this one. See you there. Haven’t been to Cambridge before so looking forward to it. Having a mare with my laptop this morning so apologies if this reply is on multiple times.
Back in the day went to Cambridge got parked up and were about to go in the pub when it was pointed out that we were outside the Cambridge City ground. TBF it looked a canny ground, just wondered why it was a bit quiet. Think it was this match where we were searched by the police going into the ground and one of the lads had something in his shirt pocket. When asked what it was he replied my warrant card for xxxx police. He was accused of being a right clever so and so before being asked to pull it out... Oooo errr madam Yep it was his warrant card cue immediate comments of have a good day sir and be careful.
Only been there once 79/80 I think Bloody awful trip. Bus got lost didn’t get there until 2ish and the police were dreadful. Think Chelsea had caused loads of bother that season so they treat us like ****e. Tried to stop us going for a pint everyone searched Then in the ground the terracing was about 10 steps deep could see bugger all Had a bit of crack with a steward who reckoned Cambridge city’s ground was far better. Can’t even remember the score another ground ticked off but a day to forget. Shame Have been to the town since and it got some cracking little pubs
7 more from here going now, looks like another big following. I can still help if anyone is struggling for a ticket.
For anyone going by car there is a large Tesco Extra on Newmarket Road that is good for parking as it is a short walk to the ground. The shop is set back from the road (look out for Travelodge and Premier Inn). The Wrestlers is a small pub nearby serving up excellent Thai food.
Booked this through (your parking space). £5 11am until 6pm. Used them quite a few times for away games without problem.
Got my ticket, heading up on the train from Kings Cross. Will head to the pub for a pre… and possibly post-match pints
don't bother a hammering down there is coming, my first ever away game league cup 1983 though, but duffed away games since 1991 and thank god.
No problem, I'll save you two. We'll be in here. https://www.google.com/maps/place/T...x47d87095dea44731:0x6e04acaa56021a0e?hl=en-gb On No 3 bus route from station. Get a day bus ticket for 4 people - a couple of quid. Station -> pub -> ground -> station
