He dropped an attacker for Evans, who has been playing poorly
Evans Replaced Winnie in DM role where he was doing well and we had the upper hand again.
Winnie replaced Gooch at RB who was also doing well in that role, only to get subbed off a bit later for Dujaku when they equalised.
He then took off Pritchard - who was our best player - for McGeady. leaving on Broadhead who was on a yellow and in danger of getting red carded… at least earlier in the game.

    Baffling decision making, just baffling.

He’s totally clueless like, should never have been appointed in the first place and certainly not kept on at the start of this season. We all knew what would happen eventually.

Sorry I have been on the fence, but that was poor tonight and this has been a trend for far too long. I admit I was buzzing at the start but my balloon is well and truly deflated. And I am sorry if this sound arrogant but I am going to say this - how can he come out with Shrewsbury is a tough place to go - FFS we are Sunderland we deserve better and I really don't mean any disrespect to Shrewsbury)

Bloke is a disgrace and it’s never his fault according to the man himself. Needs to be peddled now before yet another season is wasted.

He may as well have said “It’s a tough place to come to with both a 1 goal head start and extra player on the pitch”

Saturday papered over so many cracks, we’ve not improved a single bit. Didn’t he say they used the international break to tick all the boxes…I guess tactics wasn’t on the form.

    Absolutely summed it up mate
The manager lost the game for us tonight
Still can’t get my head around what he was thinking of with The Evans substitution and moving Winchester and gooch ridiculous Pritchard was our best player but he took him off. If you play poorly and lose fair enough but we were comfortably the better team. He absolutely blew it tonight Inept is an understatement

I reckon he is gone now or will be after Sat, BIG Sam for me, Farke yes, Nigel clough even, we move forward at a piss poor pace, them players should keep their mouths shut as well worse team than last season this, poor summer signings have led to this.

I've always been in LJ's corner as I thought this was a mere blip and we are still in a decent position. The last two games have now got me thinking. We were totally outplayed by Ipswich, who, if they had a decent striker would have buried us...I thought at the time, this is papering over the cracks. Then last night...where to start. If we cannot beat a team in a relegation spot where we are one up and they are down to 10 men......then its clear we have issues and now, i'm not sure Johnson can address those problems....its the first time i've thought like this.

Soon as I saw that team sheet, just thought he'd basically thrown the names into a hat with no thought of formation etc. Just 11 names basically. Which he's done quite a few times since he's been here. Was talking up 4-3-3 preseason saying it's the way for us to go, we've barely played it ffs. Same as the end of last season. Blokes a bluffer.

That’s not right though is it, I and many others wanted him here before any others that were linked. I again thought it was best to keep him after last seasons disaster but now I can honestly say I hope he’s in for the sack today cause he’s fecking useless

LJ is having a tough time... judging by the number of posts on here and RTG...

A concensus is, bringing on Evans and reorganising the side to accommodate him, was crucial in disrupting our play. Their goal did come from our LB area..but we never got the initiative back...

    Poor managing... wrong call

This for me as well marra, not sure where we are going at the moment.

Thought their goal came from poor play by Pritchard. He had gone off the boil when he brought McGeady on but broadhead was on a yellow and did less second half.

LJ is clearly making mistakes at the moment with subs and tactical tweaks. We are really hampered at the moment cos of our 3 full backs being injured, so he is constantly changing as the back 5 aren't settled.
We bought well in the summer, nobody is telling me the likes of Broadhead, Hoff, Cirkin, Huggins aren't good players. Evans hasnt yet been the experienced leader we brought him in for - thats not on LJ, its the player's responsibility.

I'm just as unhappy as everybody else with the recent results and performances and the frustration, but absolutely nobody has put forward a credible replacement option if LJ did leave, Sacking JR and PP got us similar results and form. Until there is a better manager to replace him, we should be supporting the team, as we always do anyway - that's a given.

I think a lot of LJ's problem is that he wants a team of all-rounders. He thinks he should be able to shuffle the players all over the pitch without it affecting their performance in any way. If you have a squad of seasoned professionals you can get away with this to an extent, but you've got to have the players. Also, there is all the disruption to the players still on the pitch, suddenly with new partners.

The thing is though, all this shuffling about might be worth it if it produced any improvement. But it never does, he just works out how to keep doing the same thing with a slightly different combination of players.

Somehow, he manages to surprise us every game by coming up with new ways to do nothing.
