You do know people have died as a result of the vaccine...right? I pay little attention, but we are told the numbers are low. Not that I am saying don't get it. But that may be the reason, not that they are being selfish in anyway towards anyone else. Maybe they would sooner get natural immunity. There are dozens of reasons. I hate the pathetic attempt to guilt people into taking it "to protect the vaccinated", it is abhorrent. Some people genuinely feel like that no doubt, others just want everyone else to have to take the same risk as them (or not) from a selfish point of view. Take it, don't take it...its not for anyone to decide for anybody else.
There's a strong argument that has actually increased accidents as people feel more secure, and are therefore more willing to take risks.
You seem to think there's a significant health risk to taking the vaccine. Like other vaccines, there isn't. Putting so much focus on this one particular vaccine that you find yourself quoting the statistically insignificant number of people who have died after taking the vaccine as though it's proof of a link, just demonstrates that you're subjecting it to much more scrutiny than you would anything else. Countless everyday things present a greater risk to your health than getting the vaccine, and if you're not worrying about those but are going on about the risk of the vaccine, that's a double standard.
ONS on Vaccine related deaths (4th October) - The different statistical agencies have reported that to August 2021 (June 2021 in Northern Ireland) there were 4 deaths in England, 0 deaths in Wales, 4 deaths in Scotland and 1 in Northern Ireland. Of these, 4 in Scotland and 1 in Northern Ireland had the vaccine as the underlying cause of death. This meant that there were 9 deaths in the UK that involved the vaccine (meaning the vaccine contributed to the death), of which 5 had the vaccine as the underlying cause (meaning the vaccine initiated the chain of events directly leading to the death). For these deaths, there was evidence to suggest that the vaccine played a part in the chain of events that led to the death. It really is statistically tiny, particularly in light of over 1,000 unvaccinated people dying every week. Sometimes people need protecting from themselves.
Poor reply....today see's the rounding up of people in Australia and sent to so called quarantine camps...there crime testing postive for covid. With mandatory vaccination planned for Austria and Germany, shootings of covid protesters in Holland and vaccination passes needed elsewhere in Europe. Unless your asleep the slippery slope as already started elsewhere in the world and most you you still can't see your being Gaslighted by the media to bring about discrimition against the unvaccinated and the scary thing is most of you would go along with it on some pretext or other !
I would be the first to stand up for individuals rights. Yes, I agree it should be up to the individual choice. But with the rider, if non-vaccination results in job loss, holiday cancellation, refusal of admission to another country on business, these possibilities have happened, and will continue to happen. That person has just been told no. And quite possibly for the first time in their "it's not your fault" upbringing, someone has said no, and really really meant it. Their choice not to get vaccinated could impact more on their life than a trip to the local ICU. BUT, it is their decision.
I've had all three jabs. I think its a really good idea to get vaccinated. I think we should do our upmost to persuade everyone to get vaccinated There are no "zero risk" paths in life, choose your path wisely I don't support compulsory vaccination but I can understand why some do.
