They have won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five, most recently beating West Brom 1-0. Their top scorer is Danny Ward, with 4 goals. They also have Jordan Rhodes in their squad, who I always think of as a dangerous striker to play against...looking at his stats though, it seems his best days were a few years ago. As for us, a win and we'll be that little bit more securely in a playoff place. Way too earlier to get too excited, but given the injuries we've had, and the players who are returning, it is very encouraging that we are where we are. Team news and managers comments to go up when on the official, enjoy those who'll be there, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Wow! The games are coming thick and fast. The weekend is not yet over and we have a new match thread It would be great to win this game and consolidate our play-off position. I currently have no idea on the injury status or potential team selection. But my gut feeling is to maintain a winning team.
We never seem to do well against this lot but the bookies seem confident of a QPR win. No doubt a 1:3 loss then!! (Joke). Hope we can do it. Would be great to continue the winning streak and consolidate a play-off place.
Well they've picked up 19 points at home so far but only 9 away, so they are very strong at home but are definitely gettable at our place !
Dave Mangall is an interesting bloke, played in a just past their best but really good Huddersfield team, became our player manager during the war and got us our first ever promotion from the Third Division South to the second division in 1947/48. After we were relegated in 1951/52 he left the club and never managed again. Only 6 other managers have got us promoted in our entire history. This bloke deserves more recognition. Cheers Dave.
‘’Huddersfield are the opposite of Luton – Rangers have lost three and drawn one of the four meetings under Warburton and failed to score in any of the last three. The 1-0 loss to the Terriers here in March, 29 games ago, was the last time we failed to score in a league match. ‘’ Clive W.
True! Seeing Dave’s preview reminded me of one of my favourite games at LR, during our skint division 3 days when the buckets were out at every home game. We’d sold Kevin Gallen to Huddersfield and he won a penalty for them in front of the loft. Of, course, he skied it and the whole ground sang the magic hat song. Couldn’t see his face but I bet he was smiling.
I remember that and never being as confident about anything in my life that he would fail to convert. And so it proved. Why on earth they ever thought it a good idea to let him take it is quite beyond me.
It's something I've always wondered, how do professional footballers feel about scoring against the team they support? I know it's there job but there has to be a tinge of sadness at doing that...... I recall Uncs scored twice for Villa against us at HQ and he looked gutted at doing so, more so now when you see the sheer enjoyment on his face when we score and the interaction he has with the fans........
£10 through qpr plus, worldwide if u haven't got sky red button, which is what I will be doing. I am so glad they have continued this from last season, means I cam catch all the midweek games that are not on sky main event as cannot get red button on Sky Go
Huddersfield scored 4 goals in their last 6 games and no more than 1 in any of those games. So not prolific in front of goal , at least recently. If we can keep our record going of scoring at least once in a game, then we should be guaranteed of at least a point. I think we should take them and just hope we go at them with that belief !
Hopefully steelsy+ will be showing the game Off work for at least the next six weeks so I will be keeping an eye on the schedule
I always predict to opposition to score against us. It’s a lovely bonus if they don’t, but with our defensive record hardly disloyal. Likewise I always predict that we will score, which is a nailed on certainty at the moment - how many games since we didn’t (come on Statto)? 2-1 on Wednesday I hope, trying to work out whether I have enough time after the last work call to get down for it.
