It's already safe standing in E3 anyway.

I agree with you. It doesn't need to be huge, just reasonably big.

Not always Chazz...the Shelf at Spurs old ground springs to mind...does any one want another stand move moving the most vocal city fans into the north again ?

Wonder if we beat Cardiff, if Acun comes in and says that Grant has the job until a poor run of form. Sort of a win-win for the new owner. If Grant keeps winning it's not a bad thing, and if he doesn't, then he has an easy out for getting rid of him.

Just imagine it could be tricky in 2-3 games if we have four or five wins on the bounce to sack him, and looking at that run, there's no games that I'd say we can't win.

I know there's a new man lined up, but didn't Baz suggest there was a bit of wriggle room regarding timing?

It really isn't. It is stood up in seats. Which gives moaners and the stewards somethingbto have a go about. Safe standing is rail seatsThere were more Birmingham fans standing than amongst the 5 times more home fans, There were more of theirs standing than if we had a full house.

This exchange on HDM comments shows why we have difficulty in generating an atmosphere. Ridiculous policing and stewarding with more segregation than other clubs doesn't help. Other clubs manage to control local derbies with an aisleway and a row of stewards.

A bit late on this but looking at the chain it looks like a great Q&A session. The thing I am most looking forward to is the expected instant increase in fans back in the stadium, and the increase in volume that will bring . Listening to away fans singing 'this is a library' is the most annoying thing ever!

I would have thought that the most annoying thing is fans standing throughout the fixture, blocking the view of those who choose to sit down or have to sit down because of age or disability. A couple of years ago I agreed to accompany a friend to a Manchester United v Middlesbrough fixture, traveling from this area with other Manchester United supporters! It was an ...... interesting day - hopefully, not to be repeated! Spent all of the game standing behind one of the goals 'as everyone else did this every home match'. Best part of the day was reading a book during the journey there and back. Ear plugs recommended for such ventures.

I wonder what sort of experience people expect at a live sporting match if noise and standing are things they take issue with. May as well just stay home.

I know what you’re saying in theory but literally no one asks anyone to sit down in E3
Not stewards not fans…no one (or not in my experience anyway)

They were more of a hindrance, with two police and three stewards blocking the entrance to E3. After half time, a very loud annoying drunk who was trying to find his pass, staggering around, others were trying to get round him, which lead to a heated argument between the drunk and a woman (who was giving as good) literally in front of the two police officer noses, who did absolutely nothing to diffuse it.
Incidentally couldnt believe the pace and lack of response from police/stewards when it looked like things could spill over, at the time of the bottle throwing.
I never saw any extra police presence, though after things had calmed an 'army' (not sure of the collective name) of very scared looking stewards took there place across the front of the North stand.

Said that at the time - stewards seemed to be more worried about the bother in the North-West corner, coppers nowhere to be seen when Brum fans' frustrations started to boil and woman in the orange hi-vis calling down the extremely reluctant stewards from east to saunter over to north would have been hilarious if it wasn't for the fact that these people are supposed to be keeping us safe if something really did ever kick off.

From our position a couple of blocks down East, there's all sorts of amusing speculation why you lot in E3 get the extra attention from the stewards. Mostly that you're about to launch an attack on the rest of us. <doh>

I wasn't saying they do, Den. Sad things is we only have 2 sections , one not quite a full section because of the shape, where people stand. Other clubs have far more.
