Bloody difficult game with a few injured players .We'll be lucky to get a draw, they are far more dangerous than people think. Nevertheless, here goes. Mendy Dave Christensen Rudi James RLC Kante Chilwell Ziyech Havertz CHO No Mount, not well enough, no Jorginho, no threat. No Pulisic cause I don't rate him.
Chelsea XI: Mendy, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz. Subs: Arrizabalaga, Alonso, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner.
Got this wrong, I thought we'd struggle against Leicester at their place, but we hit the ground running and never stopped. Best we've played for some time, with most players on top form. Only Mount looks below par, something wrong with the young man for sure, he might appreciate a rest.
We certainly seem to be setting the pace and we still have some tough fixtures yet to come. I’d love to see us play with an actual striker though. Imagine how many we’d score then?! seriously though, Leicester are a tough outfit but we made them look ordinary. We’re starting to create a gap at the top of the league now. With city and Liverpool keeping pace it’s going to be a long, tough season.
Seems they are all long tough seasons these days. Have to say, when in absolute top form, Liverpool impress me more than City, and more than us too. We still haven't sorted our best 11 let alone played them, with all the injuries we have had. But Audi is using his squad very cleverly and covering the missing stars with intelligent subs Today it was Ziyech who impressed as sub, and "Sick note" did well too. Havertz still looks like he's searching for his best position, and Mount is clearly out of form and needs dropping. I am unconvinced that Lukaku is good enough to make the difference we need to topple City or Liverpool, and would love to see the young Fiorentina striker join us , not the overhyped Haarland. Whatever the case, we are desperate for another top whack proper striker. Impressed by Trevoh, he's a gem, but concerned that Rudi and Christensen are free agents. Oh well on to Juve and yet another in the long, tough lineup.
As I’m sure you’re aware, I’ve had my doubts about Lukaku from the get go. I personally think he’s a massive waste of money, but I’m not the person who does the scouting for Chelsea.
I think the fact we don’t have a best XI as such helps us out a bit as we’re a bit less predictable. Everyone is contributing at the minute, even the players I didn’t expect to play at all (RLC, Chalobah). Hopefully it stays that way.
