The atmosphere was pretty good today in the East Stand, I couldn't help noticing at halftime the ladder up to a gantry near E6, obviously a television gantry, but would it work to put a couple of lads up there with a huge drum ( like Leicester do) to encourage the East stand to become the popular and nosiest side of the ground ? The home stand in other words ? We certainly shut the Brummies up today. Which was nice.
Good idea that , once they are on the gantry they will be able to see everything and will be the nosiest people in the ground .
As much as I don't like drums it certainly works at Leicester when the drummer knows what he is doing. It just might get the East Stand bouncing, someone suggest it to the club eh ?
Well can't you suggest it i doubt anyone is going to come forward to volunteer to asking the club if they can put nosey people on the gantry.
Be the quickest way to knock a few hundred off the gate, terrible idea Can't we just wait for the new owner and get him to put safe standing in and we can have a good old fashioned kop ?
Doubt if we will get safe standing. The SAG and others seem determined to kill all atmosphere and signs of passion. WTF were all those stewards doing stood down the aisleway between 2 lots of City fans in East Stand? Yet Birmingham fans are able to throw items onto the pitch. You can bet that there will be City fans hauled up, banning orders issued but no Birmibgham fans will be lifted.
Rest assured the bottle throwers can expect a knock on their door soon, much like the Millwall seat throwers had, oh...
I know what you mean and I hate the sad bastard with a drum stood with a couple of spotty faced mates you see at some away grounds but........City fans bang the hoardings at the back of the East Stand to get something going, so why not a proper drummer ? and I don't mean a 14 year old with a hard on who doesn't know when to shut the **** up.. We are not going to get 'safe standing' for a long time so i am just suggesting tapping into the current feel good factor at City because I sense the start of a new era for our club, you could taste it today in the stadium, this is a new dawn for the club. Believe me.
Dunno, a few scuffles after the match today on the path outside of East Stand, no coppers to be seen though.
Gutted I missed today 2 goals, a win and a noticeable feel good factor? Brilliant. I’m not a fan of drummers I must say, but then again a lot of the European crowds we all are impressed with and enjoy when there if possible often have some sort of orchestration I suppose. Decent song writers/creators would be better than a drummer I think mind you Sounds good stuff though
Isn’t a good old fashioned Kop behind the goal like at big clubs? Not tucked away in a corner Move them now and quickly
The Birmingham fans made themselves look like idiots today. Didn't Baxter drink from one of the bottles?
Regarding the stewards, there's something strange going on in the Northeast corner. Massive stewarding presence at the last two home games, they haven't allowed ticket sales in those blocks for the last few games and today they were checking tickets in the aisles to ensure no one went in that area with a ticket for somewhere else. There was a little bit of aggro at a couple of home games earlier this season, but I can't understand why they're restricting access to new fans in that area as a result. Someone on Twitter was complaining that he had his kid today as his wife was working, and he wanted to bring him to city but the club wouldn't let him buy a ticket unless he and his group moved to another part of the ground, so he couldn't go at all. When the takeover goes through there'll be a few more wanting to come in that corner and unless it's sorted by then, their first experience back at the club is going to be getting turned away. Just what we need.
Kettling please log in to view this image Kettling (also known as containment or corralling) is a police tactic for controlling large crowds during demonstrations or protests. It involves the formation of large cordons of police officers who then move to contain a crowd within a limited area. Protesters either leave through an exit controlled by the police, leave through an uncontrolled gap in the cordons, or are contained, prevented from leaving, and arrested.
Wasn’t there today, but had my pass checked before last game to get from concourse to E3, and then at half time too! (Well he tried. After I said ‘FFS…again?!’ Then he remembered me!) He said it was because too many were coming there when they had seats elsewhere. No idea if that was right On the plus side maybe knowing more would buy there soon they were keeping the trespassers out?
